Emcee, glad you were able to get online. NTG, it sounds like you were able to get your voice back into shape for your solo - that's great. I liked your Aida story, except for the names of the characters. I think you could use more ordinary names without sacrificing anything. I'll be interested to see where you go with this.

Thank you, Chloe. I know what you mean about the names...they kind of bother me, but at the same time, I think I'd get more complaints if I changed them...we'll see.

Do you mean complaints about changing them in midstream, or are these names that are associated with Aida in some way already? (aside from relating to "Aida" and "Radames" a little)

Both. No, they're not already associated in any other way...but from the few Aida fics I've read, people already generally expect the modernized names to sound similar to the original character names.

Besides which, now the names are stuck in my head...

Yeah, I can see that if those names are now the characters to you, it would be tough to change them.

I also really enjoyed the ending of the Rent fic. If anything, I thought you could have taken more time with it - I know you were concerned with how long the last installment was, but it seemed over in a flash to me. I feel like you have a really strong grasp of those characters.

Sorry to threadjack, but I don’t want to start another ’I need a song to sing for ____’ thread. I need to find some male/female broadway duets to suggest to Noday for my next recital.

I'm already required to sing ‘Young and Healthy’ from 42nd street (girl's vote) and ‘As Long As You’re Mine’ (Noday's choice) So now I have to find a 'slow emotional love song'

Chloe--Again, thank you. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have broken it up, as I don't think many people ended up reading on Christmas Eve. But oh well. I didn't have the ending quite finished, and I wanted to get that part of the chapter put up anyway. Do you have any thoughts on whether or not I should keep any of that scene and use it in my screenplay?
