edit: *considers again* on second studying, face looks good, eyes not so good - it's kind of hard to see where they are but...hmmmm *ponders*

You're right, Chloe. No matter what, people are going to complain. I know if they'd cast the likes of Justin Timberlake I'd be complaining, but part of me still isn't processing that they've *actually* cast the OBC. Nothing's going to please everyone.

As I recall, he was rolling his eyes over the other band member telling Jack Black he still loved him, or something like that. He actually did pretty well in that scene.

Amasis, that's interesting that he turned down musician roles for a while, though I wasn't thinking about typecasting so much as an Oscar creating impossibly high expectations, combined with resentment from Hollywood oldtimers. Some winners seem to end up not getting much work afterwards. Which actually doesn't matter, because Adam's coming back to Broadway and the recording studio after this anyway, I have a feeling.

I see what you mean, Chloe. He struggled with a smaller version of that after RENT, I think. He's said he stuck with RENT for much longer than he probably should have, because he wasn't sure where to go from there. Lots of auditions that he sucked in, as he mentioned himself

I remember him talking about it once at a gathering with the some of the OBC, how RENT on Broadway created this huge expectation and pressure, and how he felt the next thing he did had to be just as big, so that made things difficult for him for a while. I also remember Jesse saying that he knew RENT was a one time thing and that nothing could be like that experience.

But I agree with you. Since hopefully he's returning to his music after this, and possibly Broadway, then it shouldn't be much of an issue.

I was just looking at Emcee's avatar and was thinking... has anyone wondered why they chose to have him wear a mullet in the beginning and then all of a sudden appear with short hair at the end? The other two guys didn't change appearance at all, so I had no clue why they need to have Theo go through this major change. I mean, seems like such a random decision.

You know how Dewey tells them they've gotten too hung up on looks and forgotten about the music? I guess that's just showing you that they've been paying too much attention to the competition, and their lead singer got all pretty for it.

That was one explanation I thought of, but how come the bass player still looked like... uh... well, anyway. I just thought that all 3 should have gotten all pretty. Of course, there was that non-shirt the guitarist was wearing.

Well, the director himself said the two different looks were a mistake.

Yeah, the non-shirt. I'm not sure I would have liked to see Adam in that. I thought that guy was repulsive, but evidently some people thought he was hot.
