It's part of Sally's character, Emcee- she wants to 'dance her cabaret' (meaning that she can ignore and party while the world crumbles) and do whatever she likes and tell people whatever she wants, regardless of what the truth is. To Sally Bowles, the real reasons aren't important, nor is their orgin.
::is finding it hard to concentrate with all that slurping going on::
No, no, come back, Ellie. I never made it into Studio 54 either.
I can remember feeling the movie was worth seeing and had something to say, but it's probably not nearly as profound and multi-layered as the last stage revival, the only theatrical version I've been exposed to, though not *directly*.
Right, nia. I just meant that the green nail polish specifically didn't have to be the thing that displayed that.
alrighty well i feel very out of it because i never saw cabaret.. so i'm going back to my ipod listening to adam singing "i got life" over and over again..
*stops licking screen* haha
creation
hahah i got a kick outta that one.
Oh my.
Ah! I forgot Hair is now available...for real!
So beyond thrilled.
Nia is certainly right that Liza's take on Sally was very different - the part was rebuilt around her persona, and to me seemed more like the kind of lovable, vulnerable nut she was known for playing than the Sally in the play. Updated On: 2/25/05 at 11:40 PM

Liza was just a brat that was trying too hard to be interesting. Sally in the stage version is also somewhat desperate, but less of a child and she actually has some honesty in her emotions.
I loved Sally in the musical. Susan Egan's take was brilliant; vunerable, childish, emotional and totally sweet and lovable.
*thinks of something else to say since she hasn't seen Cabaret and couldn't be allowed anyway*
Emcee, it's like sh-k-boom knew you've been sick and needed to cheer you up!
Has anyone ever seen Susan in "Gotta Kick It Up" a Disney channel movie? I guess that's all I've seen of her, and I really like her. Also all those wonderful things she said about Adam made me very happy!

Stop calling Liza a brat, Nia! I love my Liza. I'm sure it's the way she was directed. You can't deny Ms.Minnelli has talent!
I knew there were more reasons why I love Sh-K-Boom.

Ellie, I like her voice but the way she played that character? Killed the movie. Heads are going to roll when I find out who was responsible.
Wait..umm..why is it that Hair still has that false "buy now" thing up with that stupid annoying sound it makes when you click and nothing happens? Grrrr
That's really weird. There's a preorder button.
Ahhh...okay good.
Wow, 850 pages...
Okay, I'm off to bed. All the sick people feel better and have a good weekend!
night Chloe!
