Thanks. I saw it, and it was just irresistable.
Marilyn, please return to from whence you came. Thanks.
Have you seen the Best of Broadway video in which Heather and Adam sing Elaborate Lives? He starts out alone, then just before the duet section, Heather walks out. She gives him one of the most radiant smiles I've ever seen. Their chemistry is so evident, even though it's a concert version of the song.
Marilyn seems to have made a number of posts like that around the board for some reason.

Yeah, I taped the whole concert when it aired on PBS last year. I love it, but I love even more when Adam does the Seasons of Love solo. The high note makes me warm and fuzzy all over. There's this moment in Elaborate Lives where he walks up the steps sideways, and for some reason, I thought that he was going to fall up them! Anyway, I think that was a bit of time since she had left the show, wasn't it? If yes, I'm so glad they got them back together for the song, since only he was still in it. That was the first clip or anything I'd seen of them performing together, and they're just too hot for words. The only thing that bothered me about it was that she wasn't on stage for most of it. I mean, even if it's a concert, he's supposed to be singing it to Aida.
Watch it, Marilyn.

You know, I'm really not in the mood for crap. When you piss off the board's almost-universal sweetheart, you're crossing one EFFING big line, dear.
aaaanyway....
Right, I couldn't believe the director made him walk up those stairs in the middle of the song! And I see your point about her being on stage the whole time. It would have been great for her to walk out at the beginning. I think you must have seen a rerun, because my DVD is copyrighted 2000, when Heather was still in the show.
Seasons of Love is outstanding - I really love it when he does more soulful stuff like that. And as I've said before, would kill to hear him do some down and dirty blues.

ah. I saw it in February of '04. It was aired on Superbowl Sunday. For some reason, I thought it was filmed in like 2002. oops.
But really, the first time I watched it, I was like "Adam, please don't fall up the steps!" This was, after all, just weeks after I'd seen him nearly tumble down the spiral staircase in Cabaret.
I believe you can buy the CD from PBS
It's called Broadway's Love Songs or something like that
I know it has Adam's SOL on it anyway
Yeah, that's the one. "My Favorite Broadway: The Love Songs."
Right, star2B, that's how I got it, from PBS. (Whoops for me too, Best of Broadway is something else.)
It looks like CB is starting all over again, though they did say they were trying to get old posts back. I'd hate to lose all that stuff on the movie!
How did Adam nearly fall in Cabaret?
CB had a crash!
OMG, that site is like a historical landmark!!
That's so depressing
Broadway's Best was the thing on Bravo... the one where Adam sang Suddenly Seymour with Mandy Moore, What You Own with Daphne, and Pinball Wizard by himself. I wish I had seen it.
CB like JUST started over a few months ago, when it went from .com to .org. They lost everything then, too. This is sad! Hopefully people blogged the big posts like Sophie's.
In Cabaret, he didn't really almost fall, I was just watching him, terribly afraid that he was going to. Right after I Don't Care Much, when he had to go down the little spiral staircase in those really high heels. He looked like he wasn't having an easy time of it; rightfully so, but I was worried!
Yeah, I didn't see that either, only caught a couple of clips from it. It doesn't seem to be available on video. I probably would have had the same reaction as you, watching him go down that stairs. The first time I saw the Elaborate Lives stairs thing, I felt that way too.
I was hoping Nia would come back and tell us what she thought of our RENT discussion, but I guess she's gone for the night - which I should do too, as tomorrow is WORK. Good night!
She said she'd read it, but she went to sleep. She probably will - she'd probably be interested in it.
I'm still shaking the last of the insomniac tendencies from that medicine and working on getting back on a schedule, so I'll be up for a bit more. Good night!
Morning everyone... how are you all? Okay I had no idea that this thread would have to close when we get to 1000... that's a really scary thought! And Emcee, what was the Adam hairstyle you were referring to that you said was a wig? I thought you meant the longer hair that he had for a while, but now I'm all confused. Help me out, please! Yes, yes, I feel very stupid today.
The pictures you're seeing from the film set where Adam's hair is short and blonde, and he's wearing eyeliner and really tight black pants - that's a wig. His real hair is long, and the dark brown is (finally!) his natural color.
Mornin Em.. How are you today?
Well, as you saw the insomnia was kicking in last night, and I was up VERY late. So, I slept through both of my morning classes. I feel great now, but later won't be very fun. heh.
How are you?
Here, look! Pretty.
