Hey Muppets, just returned from Chitty. I'm currently being interrogated by Emcee on AIM.

Can we wear flowers 'round our necks, Nia? Can we frolic gaily in the ocean? Can we sing 'round the beach campfire?

That sounds fun, Ellie! And if things go bad, I can feed you to the natives!
QM, the rest of us feel underloved. Will you review Chitty for those among us who don't have the pleasure of hearing about it over AIM?
I interrogate like a professional. But not as well as you, nia.
So how was it, QM?
Ellie, those activities sound like they were quoted directly from some long-forgotten Ziegfeld show.
Nia, you know I love you very much. I certainly will share my opinion... I'm just very lazy and hope that my 'date' of tonight will post his review first and I'll just add comments.

Did the car steal the show? Or did Rau'l () manage to win through?
And Chloe, yes, they're from 'Together in Paradise: The Nia & Ellie Story'. It flopped.

I now know how Ellie felt... Ellie chica, forgive me! Love me like I love you so I won't have to be hurt by the Muppet who shuts me out!
Date? A bwwer? Oh, juicy. I was going to bed, but I want to hear about this first.
Rauuuuuuuuul.
It may have flopped on Broadway, but it's a hit here on the Adam thread. Island paradises are one of my favorite fantasies.
QM, how about a one-paragraph "highlights" summary?
Ok chappies, bear with me while I write down a few thoughts. Give me 5 minutes... but as Chloe said, it'll be a quick summary because I'm a lazy bugger.

Raul's beauty had better be a highlight.

The Nia and Ellie Story couldn't compete with Phonebook:the musical starring Adam Pascal and Raúl Esparza. Luckily, the score and our lovely voices are preserved on disc. Get your copy today!
QM, we shall wait. And then I will interrogate you until I hear about this date with a bwwer.

"... because I'm a lazy bugger."
I thought 'cheap and cheerful' was the correct description of you. Hope you had a good time tonight, QM.
AMASIS! I missed you! I actually have a question for you if you're on AIM for a few minutes.

Hi amasis!
Ellie, which of our songs is your favorite?
OK, I've seen Chitty twice in London and absolutely loved it, so had high expectations when I saw the the Broadway production today, knowing that they apparently introduced quite a few changes.
I was disappointed with the changes. The show seemed very slow moving and had a very weak opening for startes. The plot wasn't as 'neat' as in London and I had the feeling it was a bit all over the place and must have been very confusing for children. Didn't like how the characters were introduced immediately at the beginning (the Dad introducing the characters individually to the audience etc).
Thought Raul sounded good and looked great but is in my opinion not right for the role. He's lacking the warmth that Michael Ball brought to the character and seemed to be lost in the mess today.
Overall, I was very disappointed with the whole show (except with Marc Kudisch as The Baron and Kevin Cahoon as The Childcatcher who were amazing), especially after having loved the show so much in London.
ETA: AMASIS!!!!

Hi nia & Emcee (and everyone else)!
"He's lacking the warmth that Michael Ball brough to the character and seemed to be lost in the mess today."
I love Raul, but I have to say I'm glad Michael got a mention for what he did. *bounces*

My Rauly.
That's too bad - very disappointing for everyone. Raul should have been in Mambo Kings instead.

Thanks, QM. Most people have been saying he was fine as a fatherly figure, but I trust your opinion too. I'm curious about what the official reviews will say. Marc and Kevin are getting raves all around. Matt_G seems to think Marc is the entire show- I take it he was your date?
amasis, you traitor. No more jelly beans for you.
Oh, Matt has posted his review already? I need to check it out...
Nia, I think we all know how biased Matt is when it comes to Marc. Don't get me wrong he did a wonderful job but he's certainly not the whole show, especially when he's just on stage in the second act. If there is someone who makes the show it's Chitty. It's so wonderful to see her flying all over the place.

*AHEM*
I'm sorry, nia. In terms of the list of 'men whose voices I love', Michael Ball and Anthony Warlow was there long before either Adam or Raul even appeared on Broadway.
Matt, I forget that you can check up on us on here. And you see, we are NOT talking about Adam.
And you know how much I loved your man, although he is scary.
