I'm joining this thread a little late, but I dance! I've been dancing for 9 years almost 10 hours each week for the past 6 years. I do ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, character, and a little bit of tap. I love dance! It is my life!

I did dance for one year, but I'm looking to get into it since I want to continue on into musical theater.

Does anyone know of any summer camps on the east coast that have theatrical dance or anything like that?

Is there a specific name for theatrical dance?

Pretty darn good, I think. I didn't sing because I have a really sore throat (the dancers weren't being forced to sing, anyway). I did dance, though. There was a tap and a jazz number. During the tap number, one girl who (I swear!) hates me told the choreographer that I was good. And I think i agree. I'll find out tomorrow if I got a callback or not.

It's okay. My music teacher asked me to play in the pit, anyway. (Even though she heard the director say I was definitely in the show. Weird.)

That's the bad thing about having students run aspects of the show. They tend to pick their friends more.But, oh well.

I just got back from my sportsnight dance! It was so muchhh fun. Our shirts are SICK. Their splatter painted red and have our last names on the back and a big black question mark (our grade's theme was mystery). They look so cool. The dance was amazing-- we definitely had the better dance even though we're only freshmen.
