sorry had to share the misery at that one I'm going to have to make that (Expensive) trip to the bookstore this week.

Does anyone ever try the used books on Amazon for school books?

I've never done it, but I know a lot of people who do, that swear by it..

amazon is good if you can wait a week or so (we usually can but i'm in the uk)

some people say www.swiftflog.com is good but i've never used it

Don't worry about being OT on this thread. We rarely are on topic save for during the cam.

I've never tried amazon for books. Only problem is I don't know what books I'll need and by the time I do, I order them, and they arrive We'll probably be like 3 weeks into classes. It's worth a look though.

There's got to be a way to find out which books you'll need before classes start...perhaps contacting professors...hmmm

I could e-mail my professors but I'm still waitlisted for two out of my 5 classes and I'm not going to buy books for classes I'm not even in yet. And it's just easier to buy them all at once.

I do have a used book store near by where I live. I'll probably end up getting them there once classes start.

Hi all--

I've bought used books on Amazon and bn.com, and I saved a ton of money. Occasionally I had to wait two weeks or so, but very rarely. Of course, the books I was buying were for grad school, so they weren't exactly the type of text books used in undergrad classes. But I've never had a major problem with either site. You can also try half.com and buy.com. Some universities have also set up their own book selling/trading sites.

yeah i just always buy my books at the bookstore..my dad is paying for them so i'm like eh whatever. but i mean i have to pay him back...its a weird system. but yeah i don't mind paying that price cuz its so much easier. and we can buy used books there so they are sometimes cheaper.

and Traci, as funny as it sounds, you keep confusing me...i keep thinking that you are Jamie because of the avatar and so i'm like wait shouldn't you be in school? lol sorry..i'll get used to it

In case that's not a joke, that would be Mr. Andrew Asnes. He used to be an ensemble member in DRS but left on Sunday as well as John and Sara. He was my favorite bellboy from the show. He's also one of the Producers of The Color Purple.

Not to be a whiner, but is anyone else here--at least those of you that live in the northeast--tired of this crappy weather? Since when does it rain in Albany in the middle of January?!?!? We're usually up to our necks in snow!

Greg said at the beginning of the cam who took over for Andrew. His name is Dennis. Perhaps he was talking about Dennis Stowe.

Edit: I am sick of this snowy whether in Upstate NY.
