I have a friend who was a hair away from failing out of high school (she skipped 62 classes in the first half of the first semester our senior year.) managed to barely graduate...moved to florida and attended community college for a year...something must have snapped then because she's now at Tulane (well, I think she's a Vandy this semester actually...or something like that...but the moral of the story is she pulled her sh*t together...some people just need to fall first...)
