Hahaha. I love it!
And I LOOOOVE his wig.
He called it "flouncy" and a little piece of me died.

Flouncy? Really? Flouncy? Is that even a word, Raúl?
He's making up secret codes AND words now.
It is a word! It makes me laugh so hard, though. I like funny words. To flounce is also a verb. It's sort of like skipping. Sort of.
Raúl can flounce. Quite well!

Wow. I need to expand my vocabulary, really.
Oh, to be as smart as he!
I was listening to the Downstage Center interiview again, to drown out my family's bickering, and I was just drooling at the intelligence. He speaks so beautifully, and it always amazes me that English isn't even his first language.
Ah! I hope you can find the video! That sounds priceless. I really need to listen to all these interviews. I haven't heard any of them yet.
Have you heard the Snoopy chatterbox? I think it's that one. Jen Cody and someone else were talking about Taboo and Seussical. I think. It was hilarious. I never really understood what exactly the problem with Taboo was. I still don't.

I don't understand a word of Spanish (Or French and I took four years of it) but I would really like to have him speak to me in Spanish. Haha.
I could just smile and nod.
Have you heard his "O Tennenbaum?" It's great. That's in Spanish. I think. Em?
I rarely found Spanish to be a particularly beautiful language.
Then Raúl came along.
You two have heard the Spanglish version of O Tannenbaum, right? (Yes, Spanglish.)
The pretend problem with Taboo was the press. They were so hard on it and so set on it being bad that it became impossible for the cast and crew to work on the show without being constantly watched and scrutinized.
The real problem with Taboo... well, there were a lot. It would've benefitted from an out-of-town or off-Broadway tryout, of some sort. And also, the problem was mainly in the book. Apparently a lot of George's scenes as Leigh were cut between London and New York, and those scenes were sort of integral to understanding the web of relationships between all of the characters. In the Broadway version, it was sort of like there were all these people that had some sort of relationship, but it was hard to grasp just HOW they were all related. And then at the end, they were all in this room together hugging and reminscing, and if you didn't know much of the story, you were just like "okay, why?"

I have! I think I must go listen to it again right now!
I really do wish I had seen Taboo. I usually love the shows that don't do so well. I think I would have loved Taboo.
Oh, random - what religion is Raúl?
See my post above yours, Emcee. You played it for me on the train. I really should listen again because I couldn't really appreciate it with all the noise. AHhh, but...Stupid computer. *hits it*
Okay, that makes sense about Taboo. I had heard they just randomly cut scenes. So weird.
Well, he always wears a cross around his neck. Deduce what you will, though - I have no idea.
Taboo's failure is just sad. It really wasn't THAT bad, and it could've been so much better. It was a mess, but a very lovable mess.
No one on the main board seems to have a synopsis.
I "Wild Party"d it today.
Taboo seems like a show that, a year ago, I would have loathed with a fiery passion. But now, thanks to this board, I have been exposed to a much larger variety of Broadway stuff and music in general. So I think I would like it now.

Okey dokey. Question time. What role or roles would you like to see Raul play? How about a role you want him to play again?
I want to see him play Che. Badly.
He once talked about wishing TTB could be made into some high-definition film - too bad that by the time it would happen, if it did, he'd be too old to look almost-thirty.
My dream, as for what I could see him in, would be (when he's a little bit older) to see him play Ned Weeks again, but this time in a production of The Destiny of Me.
Oh, and Hedwig. Just because.
I think he's the only person who could do such a good job of sensualizing (new word!) a cupcake.

I would love to see him play the romantic lead in a high romance. Something like Fabrizio in The Light in the Piazza (Even though I know he is too old) or The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera.
And I wish he would play George in Sunday in the Park with George again. That is one of my favorite shows of all time and I never got to see him in it.
As I said before, I would KILL to see Raul play Ned (in TNH). I would love to see him play any role, actually. OH!OH! Brilliant idea!!
FIYERO!
j/k :-P
heh, I remember the awful joke one of his webmasters played on the fans for April Fools this year; she had posted that Raúl went through the audition process to play the Phantom, and that his screen test was going to be included in one of the special features on the DVD.
I was so angry, because I thought it was real and that he'd gotten screwed over for a big star (Gerard Butler).

I'm going to have to go with Che. I'd also would've loved to see him as Riff Raff. He sounds so good on the cast recording of RHS.
