Random question:
Do you think the song "Marry Me a Little" will be in the Cincinnati production of Company? I know that it was added after the original production. I've never heard it but I love the lyrics. And I'm always game for giving Raúl another song!

I feel bad fro the children that had to go to the 8 PM performance. They were probably falling asleep.

On another note...
Edit: Gah, they're playing Fun Fair. None the less, it's a good song.

What is this doing on page 2? Shame on you all.
I'm just getting caught up on things.
I told my mom about Chitty at New Years, since I'll have to be coming from home. She said "I'll think about it" but I was thinking "I wasn't asking your permission, I was telling you I was going." Grr. She has a month to get over it.
I hate when parents do that.
The other day in the car, my dad asked me what I wanted for Hanukkah. I told him I had no idea, but while we were planning ahead, I thought he should know that for my birthday, I want to go to Cincinatti.
"Why Cincinatti?"
"For a play."
"huh? What play?"
"A musical called Company."
"In Cincinatti?"
"Yep."
"Why not here?"
"Because that's where they're doing it."
"That's weird, but okay."
I haven't told them about that yet. I figure that I'll wait until they see that I survive New Years before I try to explain that. But I told my mom about Raúl and I was watching my Chatterbox tape when she came in the room and pointed him out. So she has a vague idea that this person exists.
Of course, after 5 years, I still had to remind her who Idina was while I was watching the Rent cast on The View, so maybe about 2010, she'll finally figure out who Raúl is.
haha. My mom's very aware that he exists. My dad's not, though. No idea who he is. I was talking about him once, and he was like "Wait. What's a Raul?"

What's a Raul? Oh, jeez...
My mom is aware of how much I love Raúl--I think she could tell when I got my signed picture of him, which lives inside a book now.
I couldn't make it up if I tried! I think we were in the car after Chitty, and my mom and I were talking about him. My dad hadn't seen the show, so he had no idea what "a Raul" was.
I knew should have told my dad first, but unless I popped up on his war game on the computer, he wasn't listening yesterday. I know he'd handle it better than my mom, he's the one that took my sister and I to NYC last winter. My mom stayed at home and panicked. :/
I should've told him "it" was an alien. heh.
When I told my mom about Company, she was like "we'll see." My dad was like "that's weird, but ok!" After that, my mom actually suggested going with some friends, but if we flew out, none of my friends are old enough to rent a car, and she doesn't want me driving out there.
I'm definitely telling my dad first about Company. Even though the main reason my mom hates the Chitty idea is because it's NYC, going off into Ohio with people she's never met isn't a vast improvement. Of course, she went to school in Ohio and has family there, so she can't hate it too much.
My dad drove cross-country by himself when he was my age to Minnesota, so he really can't protest too much.
I could always tell my dad that he's coming with me, so he can learn just what "a Raul" is.
Heh. The explanation of "a Raul" sounds like it would involve diagrams and charts or something.
I think my dad would actually like Raul; he likes when actors are passionate about what they're doing and not just going through the motions. He'd probably even say something at the stage door because he's a geek like that.
My dad just likes shows that aren't boring (to him). He'd probably chew his hand off if he had to sit through Company. He likes Adam, because he liked Aida.
I'd better start drawing my diagrams.
Make sure you label the hair:
Short= BAD
Longish= GOOD
None = WORST!
Chest hair = "UGH!"
Hmm...I thought it's not exactly that if you're our age you aren't allowed to rent a car, you can rent a car but you hafta pay a lot more
You used to have to be 25 to rent a car, but they changed that in recent years. People age 21-24 can rent cars, but they have to pay a daily surcharge in addition to the cost. And the only people 18 and up that can rent cars have to be doing documented work for the government.
I wrote an article on it once.
I thought it was 25. Are any of us 21?
Not that my parents would let me go if they didn't know exactly *who* I was going with.
Ah! I'll be 21 by the time I go! My birthday is the week before! Woohoo!
