That's why the prospect of piano confuses me; I mean, that's a pretty constant one!
Piano seems like an impossibility, but maybe they could find a way to make it work.
I... don't know if I just lack "vision" or whatever, but it seems like carrying over this staging concept to Company, even if it is the director's trademark, is totally unnecessary. Plus there's SO much going on in all of the songs that I have trouble imagining how it would be done.
Anyway, Raul has fantastic hair... it needs to be long.
I envision him like... pushing a piano on wheels around the stage, or wearing a toy piano around his neck. heh.

Okay, I'm not gonna lie- I have been neglecting the Raul thread while trying to keep up with the Adam one *runs and hides*. That said, I have been listening to Raul non-stop for about a week and a half now. I just want to OD on him, lol. BTW, I don't think I posted this here, but I may be going to Cinnci to see Raul with my friend! It will be our first time seeing him live ! You can all understand our excitement I'm sure
.
Ah, you'll love it! I remember my first time live with Raúl (well, I should, it was 3 months ago ). But I went in to Chitty already loving him, but seeing him perform onstage just brought it to a new level.

I am way excited. I've never seen anyone I love live (that's what you get for living in Ohio). I'll probably be in a blurr the entire time- entranced. I won't remember a thing, lol!
My friend says that she's up for going to Cincinnati (it would be my first time seeing him, too), but I'm sort of afraid that if I buy tickets it'll all end up falling through somehow. I'm not sure what to do. I'm thinking of buying tickets on a whim and if nothing else giving them to my aunt and uncle who live in Cinci if I can't make it.
That said, I REALLY wish/hope that I could go. The thought of seeing Raul singing the score to Company is just.... ahh, I can't even come up with good enough adjectives. Just the clip of him singing "Not While I'm Around" from Sweeney that's on his site (which I may or may not have just listened to seven times in a row) makes me melt into a gooey puddle.
I already heard him sing Not While I'm Around and loved it, so during Sweeny, I kept thinking about how long it would take for him to learn the violin
Well gosh, now that's what I'll be thinking about when I see Sweeney in March. :-P I didn't even think about that.
Maybe it's because Manoel Feliciano looks a little like Raul, but I think Raul would make a really great Tobias. He may not be young enough, though.

Wow it may be too late to join the love thread, but I plan on being there to see the amazing Mr. Esparza in Cincinatti.
(oh and I don't think its you sweetestsiren that lacks vision. It seems to me that this concept isn't really going to work for Company, but who knows.)
aw, it's not too late!

Thank you Em. I feel so welcome. *warmfuzzies* :)
Hi, Cages or Wings! I'm a newbie to both this thread AND BWW, so don't feel bad.
Anyway, I was talking to my mom about Company in Cincinnati today and she was, shockingly (because she's often a very pessimistic person), totally in favor of my going. She even offered to take two days off work to pick me up from school to meet the friend that I'd be riding with on Friday and take me back on Monday. Sooo.... I guess I'm going to call the aunt and uncle that live there this afternoon and see if they'd be willing to let us stay. I hope I'm not getting my hopes up for nothing.
Update: They sounded thrilled about it and want to come with us. Is this actually going to work?

*is really excited to see Raul* I hope it works out. Does anyone know how much it costs? My friend and I are trying to go see Anthony in PA for his book signing, and see Wicked in Cinnci, AND see Raul- and I'm hoping our $$$ doesn't run out. That would be sad, because if I had known about Raul I would have never bought the Wicked tickets (although I am excited for it- I've never seen it, but I can see it in Cleveland this summer- who knows if I'll ever get the chance to see Raul again!)
Tickets the show run from like $32 to $50, I think, which isn't that bad. Unfortunately, my travel costs are going to run pretty high. *keeps hunting for plane tickets*

I can't feel too bad for you Em, seeing as how you get to see all the stuff in NYC Let us Ohioans have a chance!!!
I know, I know. It's not like I'm gonna steal him from you if I come!
I can't lug him back to NYC with me.
The first time my mom looked for plane tickets, she found ones that were $300 for ONE WAY. What I don't get is that you can fly OVERSEAS for less than that! I found cheaper ones, though.
I'm not gonna die if it doesn't work out, but I think it's really going to be something to see.

You are so not allowed to take him back with you! He is staying here in Ohio! *makes devious plans to keep Raul*
