Raul, you're so pretty.

The crowd was just plain bad tonight. No entrace applause, no woo-ing at the final bow. I'm sorry I caused a fuss, it was just an off performance. And the fact that a headlight was out on the car (you'd think they'd notice that? Not that I care, but this little girl behind me kept asking if it was supposed to be out). Raul is wonderful no matter what he does, I'd rather see an off-performance of Raul's then the greatest performance of...well, most other people. I've been a hard-core fan for years now, but it just seems like he's ready to move on, and looking out at the audience that's only half full has to be painful. Thursday night is never that good.
Oh, and he didn't come out...not that there were that many people to come out to...Erin and everyone else did. I don't know. I'm just calling it like I see it. I'll still be loyal to him and Chitty will still be my favorite movie as a child.
On a lighter note, those pictures were delicious. Not like is doesn't take a good picture (scary headshot aside) but they made me smile. Thanks!!
It makes me sad that the theatre doesn't fill up anymore -- it did at the beginning. And there was one interview where he was like "and it's SO GREAT to play to nearly SOLD OUT house EVERY NIGHT," because for his past two shows, that just didn't happen. And now that he has to look out and see a half-full house that barely acts alive... for an actor who's so responsive, that's got to suck.
I'm glad Erin was on tonight, though -- she's been out for a while!

I'm personally worried for Chitty's future. What if this keeps up? It might have to do the unthinkable and scary action...
As long as it outlives Raul's contract.

It better. And I better be able to see it again before Raul leaves.
Will it have recouped it's investments? I don't know much about these sort of things...
I don't know the exact workings of the whole idea, but the show cost something like 20 million dollars.... so, I think it's unlikely. It may be a show that just doesn't even ever expect to, at costs like that.
Raul leaves in March -- I'm assuming late March. I'd beat him with a proverbial stick if he extended, but really, a year is long in Raul Esparza terms. He must've been out of his head when he said yes. But then again, it sounds like it was a year or not at all -- so, I guess he wanted the challenge.
Right.
So, I guess I'm going to have to get up there before March. Or something. That'll work.

Of course! I would love to! As long as you pay...

Deal. You get us to NYC, and I'll buy the tickets. And that's a promise!
Oh, I can pay for myself, that's not a problem!
hmmmm, all we need is a date and a place to stay. That won't be too hard, right???

Looks like I'm going to have to hitch hike. *looks in wallet* Tuition was due today.
Yikes, tuition! yucky.
Hitch hiking would be fun. Or you could take the bus. It's not too expensive, I don't think.
I know where we can stay! Raul's dressing room! I'm SURE he wouldn't mind.

I was actually looking into last year, but there's not much, if anything, in my price range. I'm still trying to save up, although it's going very, very slowly!
Well, slowly is better than not at all!
God, I wish I could be in the city this Sunday. More than just about anything in the world. My mom is going for a few days, but I can't go. And she's not doing any Broadway stuff, because she's just not cool like that.
If you do hitchhike, make sure you don't get kidnapped. We would all be very sad.

I'm too scared to ever hitchhike anywhere!
It's too bad you couldn't go with her. I'm sure we'll get to see lots of pictures, though, maybe... *sighs*
If we don't get pictures (as long as they are legal, of course), I will personally come and murder everyone of you (mebice, Emcee, anyone else going). I know where you live! Kind of. Not.
You know what would make my life? If pbs or something aired the concert all over the US (and Canada, of course!). I would be SO happy.
I have to go, it's almost dark. I'll be back tomorrow night!

It's not really a concert on Sunday, is it? I thought it was the flea market thing. Is there a concert?
there's the flea market, but the katrina benefit concert @ the gershwin is also sunday night.
