I have an amusing Rent story for Fredi and ya'll. I just thought that some fellow Rentheads may find it amusing...
One of our vocab words in my English class was "benevolent." So we had to use it in a sentence on the test and I wrote:
The benevolent God ushers the poor artists back to their flat.
And my teacher said: "Isn't that from Rent...?"
It's wonderful to have an English teacher who is also a theatre buff.

The Incrediables is...well, incrediable!
It was actually my second time (first time with NTG) and I almost never see a film twice in theatres.
I won't spoil the plot, but it's really a brilliant story written and directed by Brad Bird, who also did The Iron Giant (another great animated film).
It might be a little scary for really young kids (like under 7) but I'd highly recommend it for anyone.
As an FYI, you should know that a major chunk of the plot is suspecion over infedelity, but it's all implied, not shown.
If you're even considering seeing it, GO!

Posted: 11/26/04 at 7:40pmI don't think it'd be a problem for kids. It's one of those movies where if you're an adult you'll get the adult jokes, but if you're not it'll go right over your head.

the article...
yeah... I read that the other night.
I think it would be prudent of me to err on the side of discretion where this topic is concerned (not that I don't have opinions mind you...)
I hope you all understand

My 9 year old brother came out of it incredibly happy. There are a few action sequences that might be scary, but I dont think anyone in the theater was intimidated. The opening sequence was great.

Perfectly understood. If a time comes when you can speak out though please do.
As much as I love Daphine in the role and in general, even I think she is far too old at this point to play a 19 year old. I'm all for the original cast reprising roles in movies but it would be like getting Glynis John to play Deseree in Little Night again, it just wouldn't work. (is she still alive?)

be nice...
we do get more realistic in our old-age though don't we?

I really think everyone in the OBC should at least get a cameo
even if it's just "person to the right of Mr.Pascal during La Vie Boheme B"

Yeah, she is pregnant.
Seeing her sing Out Tonight at Kean made me want to see her in the movie though...::sigh::
I think Rosario's gonna do a great job though.

Yes, that song was still ON FIRE, even though she was extremely pregnant. Actually, she's probably had that baby by now, no?
I need to check out something Rosario's done, I think.

She was in Josie and The Pussycats with Alan Cummings
it was really bad, but you'll get to hear her sing, sort of

'we do get more realistic in our old-age though don't we?'
I would think so. More experience, sort of a break from the role... plus I just sort of think its wrong to cast other people when Larson isn't there to help make the decision.
