i make a mean baklava, by the way.
Oh, before I go, on the subject of gerbils, did you guys ever hear the urban legend about Richard Gere shoving a gerbil up his ass? Where did it come from? (The legend, not the gerbil. Or his ass for that matter.)
And with that classy anecdote, I'm outtie for a minute.

yes ebonic - they've grown considerably since 97 when i left the show... (or 96 when all the pics were taken)...
tiff - not sure how the gerbil rumor got started - but it certainly did "stick" (pun intended.)
bst - you're visiting when? (with baklava natch!)
lol...i'll make baklava for anyone who wants it....but i may demand something in return.

Hey if there's baklava, i'm there. And that's cool Fredimeister.
For ebonic and everyone else who wanted it. I can't even look at that photo without cringing - I ate baklava AND ekmek on a full stomach at lunch today. The Greek uncle insisted. Now my belt, which used to fit 4 holes in, can only fit onto 2.
But regardless, I'm still gorging myself on mac and cheese or instant noodles. Still deciding which one.
and Fredi,
you fly me to NY, i'll make you as much baklava as you want.
I'm all for learning a better way to get my hair under wigs.. I can do it, it's just time consuming..
Haha that rumor about richard gere will be around forever..

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I wish i had a greek uncle. Asian with a greek uncle? What an awsome combination!!!! And fredi--have you seen the show since you left it? I was gonna try the lottery tonight but no one would brave the cold with me from our restaurant.
I wonder if we have a baklava recipe in one of those crazy ukrainian cook books down stairs..

I actually wanted to make baklava a few weeks ago, but the recipe called for like 3 pounds of pistachios and walnuts, and they were freaking 8 dollars a bag, so it would cost about 16 dollars to make some baklava, and i had to buy the honey too since i ran out, so it owuld have ended being around $20 to satisfy my craving.
don't use a cookbook! it's all about the family secrets.
