I can't really remember too well, I was about 12, but Kensington was fine (Jury's Hotel, I just asked my sis), really the Tube is great. Trafalgar Sq/Leicester Sq/Picadilly Circus are right beside each other - kind of the flashy Times Square of London - and all of the theatres are nearby. Plus it's very close to Regent Street/Oxford Street, the main shopping places...can't be bad. Any Londoner's on this board you could PM? Why not try posting on the West End Board?
Try the West End board? Well, I would, but I actually want to get a response within the next blue moon or so. Is that part of London just called "The City"? Because I clicked that option on expedia.com (it said I could choose from Bloomsbury, Kensington, The City and a few other random names I don't remember) and that's where the /night cost skyrocketed. Literally hundreds of dollars for sh*t hotels! Aie!

Oh of course, I forgot you're going within the next decade.
Hmmm..not too sure about The City...I though that was the financial district of London, but I could be and probably am wrong.
And things are probably going to be doubly expensive with the horrible exchange rate. Oh wait, you're in Canadia - how's the CAN$?
How about sending DAME a friendly PM? He's just back from London, right? Maybe he'll do a better job of helping you than me - sorry!

yes, i JUST got on. at 6PM it was crazy. took 15 minutes for the main page to load. there's 128 users on right now. all the extra traffic of the wickedites that just joined yesterday/today are slowing down the site...
I'm watching an early Friends re-run. Monica had a job working behind the counter of a diner, where shes working the counter for a few episodes. The Moondance diner was used as the store front.
....yes, this is what happens to me when I'm overtired.
I loooooooooove that episode!

Except by the time this is posted, it'll be long over lol
Gah, its over now.
We have cable, so BWW isn't that slow. Its STILL something like 30x slower than normal, and it has been for the last few days.

Is that the one where Monica has the fake boobs (which Joey naps on...) and has to rollerskate around...? With the vase poem thing?
hi kids!
how y'all doin tonight?
Ellie, CDN dollar is actually doing pretty well! (It's been strengthened and the US dollar has been weakened - and so it goes in our process of taking you guys over, and then THE WORLD!!) - US$1 = CDN$1.22 so it's not doing too bad at all. (Esp. considering when I went to NYC in April, I was paying about CDN$1.3 and in 2001/2, closer to CDN$1.3-1.4!!)
I don't know if I should bring traveller's cheques there - it's obviously safer and practical, but my friends told me they had to pay exhorbitant rates to use them! (Something like paying EUR35 to get EUR50 in cash!) I will PM Dame though.

Traveller's cheques are for geeks. Cash baby! How will your credit card hold up - you plan on giving it a good pounding, right? I forgot you'll be dealing in Euro and Sterling.
And do the hotels over there still charge per person, not per room?
tiff, your last post made my brain explode
What a shame, b_s_t. I was going to ask Miss Brainiac if she could determine if it's more worth it for me to convert the Cdn dollar into US, and then from US --> Euro/Sterling, or if I should just buy Euro/Sterling itself.
Where is everyone?
Alright folks. Spider is here and the fun can REALLY begin. But, only for 5 minutes because I'z gotz to get to bedy-bye. WUZZUP!!!!

It's 12:15 and you have to go to bed?!
Some fun you are!
Cam, how'd they go? When are you posting the cast list? When do you get your rehearsal schedule? (Does your production include the Jitter Bug? I stage managed that show once - god, I hate that song.)

yes, Tiff - we've discussed this before (cam and I)
I love the Jitterbug - esp. Eartha Kitt's rendition...

Hi Cam!
Did you have a load of pestering brats trying out, pulling at your skirt, singing badly out of tune, making your ears bleed, your eyes well up with tears, your hair start to fall out, and your skin break out in a hideous rash? Or did it go badly?
And is Jitter Bug the one that was cut from da movie?

What show?
we have call backs all week.. I should get my schedule this week.. I asked for it today, but they are still tweaking it a bit.. The auditions were, well ok.. not as painful as some in the past, but still.. If I never hear the YAGMCB coat hanger sculpture monologue again it WILL be too soon..
I so did not want to work on this show, but I guess I am a glutten for punishment or something.. they were having a hard time getting anyone and practically begged me.. **headdesk** I swear I need to learn to tell them NO.. Atleast I dont have to go this week except for the final night of call backs/ casting night.. This should be interesting..

the jitterbug was cut, but it was a different version (you can watch it on the VHS special release AND the DVD)
In the show, the Wicked Witch sings it...followed by the poorsome foursome, then back to the WWW
