The Ring 2 wasn't that scary, but it explained some stuff and went into more depth about Samora or whatever her name is. Also it was still kinda creepyish... just not very scary.

That kid is just weird though, he's so creepy... he scares me.

The movie wasn't really bad though, I don't see why you'd laugh at it. There is nothing funny in the movie, even some of the stuff that tried to be scary, it might fall short, but I don't think it's funny... just me though.

I personally disagree with the horror movies in the past few years. I liked Amityville Horror and thought it was fun to watch, also because it is a true story and all (the thing that happened with DeFeos creeps the **** outta me). Even if the story is a bit exaggerated and stuff for the film, the original DeFeo family thing aand those muders is 100% true and I do believe the general idea from the other family (forget name).

Anyway, scary movies in general aren't always incredibly scary, but I find them fun to watch... and curious if you don't think the movies in the past 2 years were scary, what before that was?

Before the 2000-2002ish only movies I can think of are like Scream, etc... and IMO any movies before that suck. I hate old scary movies, the filming and effects suck.

Does anyone agree with me that a movie really isn't as scary without the great filming and effects unless the story is REALLY good. Since the effects, sound, filming, etc in the newer scary movies just adds a lot to movies to get you much more scared.

I dunno, that's my opinion... old scary movies are more or less boring and corny to me.

I didn't like The Ring 2 very much. It was very "ehhhhh" to me. I wanted more exploration of the guilt and horror of the original movie's set up. It was just another possesion movie to me. The RINGS short on the DVD was much better in my opinion.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

I a huge fan of the "Ring" series (more a fan of the original Japanese trilogy though). Heck, I even have two stuffed dolls of Sadako (Samara) and a stuffed version of the cursed video.

While I thought "The Ring" worked well enough, I thought "The Ring 2" was one of the worst things I've ever seen. I especially hated how they tried to make it "cool" with the line that Rachel says near the end at the well (trying not to spoil it for others). It was just lame.

Yes, that line was when I said aloud "are you f***ing kidding me?"

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.
