I love worship and adore Susan Sarandon, a fiery woman, seriously talented and not afraid to stand up for what she believes in.

However, I think I must be alone in finding her performance in Dead Man's Walking to be one of her least memorable and the only reason I think she took the Oscar for it was to make up for being nominated a gazillion times before and not winning. She should have won for Lorenzo's Oil or Thelma & Louise. And I can't believe you left out White Palace!

Can't wait to see Susan in "Alfie" with Jude Law. I'm looking forward to "Shall We Dance" with Richard Gere too, but I'm looking forward to "Alfie" even more!

She's definitely not as 'nice' as she appears, Amneris. We live about 15 minutes from each other and let's just say running into her in a store is no picnic!

Not to mention, that when I was 8 I was introduced to her and she was really rude and nasty to me (at 8! wtf!).

I still like her as an actress, but I kinda wish she lived in La-La Land so I could just be disillusioned pretend she was really a very nice person to everyone.

So we can add her to my list of actresses who I adore, and the fact that they are mean and nasty doesn't make any difference then? She's there with Rachel Griffiths and Mary Louise Parker, to name but two.

Have you seen CRADLE WILL ROCK? It's a must-see for theatre buffs, plus, Sarandon sings on the soundtrack.

Huh. I heard she was totally cool...whatever, she's the American Jeanne Moreau. The best.

I met Susan Sarandon in 1991 right before the release of "Thelma & Louise", her attorney had his offices in the building I worked in. I went up to her and said hello, introduced myself and she was as nice as she could be. We spoke for about 25 minutes. She thought it was cool that I just approached her like a normal person and didn't yell out, "OH MY GOD IT'S SUSAN SARANDON!" She then autographed my Rocky Horror Picture Show Fan Club Card (which I still have.) And to this day I'm still completely in love with that woman re: The SUSAN SARANDON Rocks Thread.

popcultureboy..it was very hard to narrow it down to just a top 10. she gave a great performance in "white palace", but then i thought she also gave a great performance in "the other side of midnight" (!) Updated On: 9/28/04 at 01:31 PM

Most famous people do tend to react well if you don't go the screaming psycho route, I have found.

Im surprised she reacted that way to you presenting her with something RHPS related to sign, Marquise.... She hates that she ever did that movie, even though it basically launched her career.

I should clarify. When I was 8, I was introduced to her by my grandfather who, at the time was doing a photo shoot for her for the Daily News. She was nice as pie to me till I told her I loved her in RHPS... Then she turned on the bitch switch.

Ah well, whatever. It's not like I have to deal with her on a daily basis. I've had plenty of other nice enounters with people.

I got to walk next to her in the AIDS walk a couple of years ago and she was sweet as pie. Of course RHPS wasn't brought up, but did't she participate in some anniversary event that VH1 did a couple of years ago?
I recently watched Igby Goes Down on DVD and thought she gave another great performacne. She's definately one of my favorites and her political views just make me like her more re: The SUSAN SARANDON Rocks Thread.

Funny... It seems like only conservatives think she's nasty. Everyone else thinks she's nice.

CJR I don't know where you got the idea that she hates RHPS. I was at the movie's 10th Anniversary held at the Beacon Theatre in NYC in 1985 and she was in attendance with Tim Curry, Meat Loaf, Richard O'Brien, Patricia Quinn, Little Nell and Barry Bostwick. They all sang their repective songs from RHPS live on stage with a band and she, Little Nell and Patricia Quinn sang back-up for Meat Loaf on "Hot Patootie". She was also intreviewed by VH-1's Behind The Music on RHPS and the interview is included on the movie's 2-Disc Special Edition and she has nothing but good things to say about RHPS.

and RHPS did not launch her career! Updated On: 9/28/04 at 03:19 PM

I get the idea that she hates RHPS from the fact that she's SAID it lol She may participate in events, but that doesn't mean she's proud of having done the movie. I know many actors and actresses like that.
