They've identified the police officer:

Darren Wilson is the police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, police Chief Thomas Jackson told reporters Friday.

CNN is now reporting that Brown had robbed a convenience store prior to the shooting. The officer was responding to this robbery. There is surveillance video of the violent robbery; he was unarmed but used fists to punch and push the store attendant (thus the term "strong arm robbery")

The only relevant word in that post being "unarmed".

But it needs to be in bold.

I think there's a chance that the Abscessory misheard.

The chief added in a new robbery plot when he named the cop. CNN's page says nothing about it being Brown.

CNN is now reporting that Brown had robbed a convenience store prior to the shooting.

Interesting that they have flat out reported that Brown committed a robbery, and not that he was alleged to or anything. Or did maybe something get lost in translation?

I never suggested anything beyond what is clearly visible on the newly released video tape. If you believe the officer responding to the robbery, and the officer who wrote the incident report, his claim of being punched and thrown down by Mr. Brown, just as was done to the store clerk by Mr. Brown, now has greater credibility.

CNN's page now says police say Brown had "stolen cigars" from a convenience store.

That's not what baldfaced boldface implied above.

Some of you need to tune into CNN right now, where they are showing the video and reporting it.

"How about we let people keep their guns, but ask them to give up automatic weapons, metal-piercing bullets, 15 bullet clips, etc? That is what I meant by "demilitarizing".

And how does that stop gang members from walking across the Mexican border and bringing those things in with them when they come?

We aren't talking about border issues. Make your own GD thread.

Law Analyst on CNN is now revealing that if Michael Brown did in fact commit this strong armed robbery & assault, which is a felony, there is probable cause given to both stop Mr. Brown for questioning and use deadly force provided the felon is fleeing from detainment and/or questioning. The Supreme Court ruled on this, which grants officers the right to use deadly force against a fleeing felon. Updated On: 8/15/14 at 11:07 AM

Here's a little context on what the police of Ferguson, MO, feel they can get away with.

Four Ferguson cops beat up a falsely accused black man and then charged him with bleeding on their uniforms.

Larger context, bigger story. "Centrists" are frauds.

The bold-type reference to a SCOTUS ruling on the use of deadly force is misleading, at best. The Constitution does not permit police to fire at unarmed, fleeing suspects unless there is a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or the public.

Exactly madbrian. "Actually, the courts in the US have ruled that deadly force isn't allowed unless "the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious bodily harm to the officer or others," which considering he was unarmed, and it was a strong arm robbery that he was suspected of, lethal force would not be warranted in this case."

Actually, the courts in the US have ruled that deadly force isn't allowed unless "the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious bodily harm to the officer or others," which considering he was unarmed, and it was a strong arm robbery that he was suspected of, lethal force would not be warranted in this case.

Since the incident report clearly states that the Officer was assaulted prior to Mr. Brown fleeing, and we do not yet have any evidence to refute this claim, lethal force is thus warranted and he is a felon evading detainment by physical threat.

...which considering he was unarmed, and it was a strong arm robbery that he was suspected of,

Strong arm robbery is considered a violent felony. Once he shoves or punches the store clerk, his fists become the weapon in the eyes of the court.
