It has been announced which character will come out and marry a member of the same sex on The Simpsons. We all kind of guessed it, but at least they didn't go with Smithers.

interesting choice. i was hoping for moe myself, but it doesn't really matter given the show's new direction where instead of good episodes, they're making bad ones. might not have been the best choice.

But it isn't surprising since they had the gay pride parade episode where patty and smithers were "in the closet."

That's not shocking at all. Though Moe has certainly been dropping hints all these years...Anyway, I'm glad they're addressing the issue. I've been watching my DVDs and can't believe so many perfect episodes were so early.

I was hoping they weren't gping woith Mr. Smithers and Mr. Burns because that wouldn't be a surprise at all. This episode has a lot of potential, but we're just going to have to see what they decide to do with it.
