That's horrid. I remember once taking notes on the last day of school in math class. Do they really think we're going to retain anything at that point?
Thanks for the sympathy. The worst part was when another one of the chem kids was trying to make ME make the solutions- she was like "you just do [insert unheard of, complicated sounding process here]" And I told her I had no clue what that was and she needed to do it because it was A) her part of the project and B) something she'd done tons of times before.

I don't have to take final exams because of the exemption policy (if you miss less than three days of school, you don't have to take second semester finals).

Aw, you shouldn't hate human life. I agree that the majority of it has a tendency to suck, but there are some decent people out there.
At least I have a decent summer job to look forward to after the school year. At this point, anything will be better than school.

Ugh, summer jobs. I just had a fight about that with the mother.
I'm trying not to hate human life. There are a few decent specimens (such as your lovely self and Miss Elphie) but some people... I just don't know what to do. As soon as the dust settles on things, I have to start picking up the pieces and stop being angry, because at that point it won't protect me. And that's hard.
I'm so mad. We used to be exempt from exams if we'd missed five or fewer days the whole year. Also, seniors who had an A average in a class were exempt from that exam, no matter how many absences they had.

Are you going to get one? My parents insisted that I do something every summer. I took a course at the College of William and Mary last year (not bad) and attended debate camp (worst experience of my life). Maybe you can work at one of the antique shops that you like to visit... ?
If nothing else, the anger will subside after some time. It's not possible that it won't. :)

.... Elphie, are you ok? Was that like a virtual seizure?
I've thought about applying to those places, but I don't know if they're hiring. My best bet is a call center or someplace where they take orders over the phone because I've had experience in those jobs.
The anger comes and goes.... and it's not a process I haven't been through half a dozen times before. Everyone's pretty much the same, you know?

You should ask. I think you'd enjoy working there. If not, the call center sounds like a good job as well. I'm terrified of the phone, but I think those places generally pay well.

I have a question, how difficult is it to actually start working? I turned 17 in January and am yet to have a job. Should I find a job now just to get myself used to it?

They pay incredibly well, but it's boring as all hell. I made so many origami figures last summer when I sat there for five hours a day.
Last summer I took summer school gym (no room on my schedule for it any other time), did my IB homework, had a job and went to writing camp for a week. This summer I'll have a job, do my IB Extended Essay from The Ninth Circle, start college applications, read Posession for English class, work on my IB art workbook and take summer school health.
No rest for the miserable.

You're going to start applications over the summer? That's hardcore dedication. Are you taking the SAT again? I refuse to believe that your scores were as bad as you made them sound, though!
Soapguy... um, it depends on where you live? I'm 17 (almost 18 ) and found a job easily, but we have low unemployment.

Yeah, I'm taking the SAT in June. I'm starting to study for that this weekend.
I've got a LOT of applications to do! I have to start now.
I'm going to go before I get too depressed again.
A premature and too-late hello to Emcee for when she gets back from what (and who) ever she's seeing tonight.
I think that I'm going to sleep this summer. And write my EE. And maybe visit some schools. But other than that, I'm just going to sleep.

Hah, Mandi, I love you.
Goodnight, nia. Feel better.
Okay, that was SO wierd. I was babysitting and on the computer, and all of a sudden the keyboard started typing Hebrew characters, but only in this window. But, when I pressed "Post message", the characters all turned to question marks. So, I resorted to sign language (the arrow thing was me trying to say "I can't talk!"), but it didn't work so well. But, I'm back home now, so it's okay. Sorry about that.
And this is belated, but thanks, Nia. I'm delighted I'm considered a worthy specimen.
We have low unemployment on because we're a military/engineering area. So most of the people that live here work in that area. I'm sure I could find a job easily It's just hard making myself when my parents will still support me.
I love you too.
Night, Nia.
Hm, so, Elphie? Did you die? Did you spill yoo-hoo on your keyboard?
ETA...nevermind.

Hah, that was truly bizarre, Elphie. I checked the main board, thinking there was saddening Raul news.
Even if your parents support you, you'd probably like some extra spending money, no?
Granted, my parents are forcing me to save all my Starbucks earnings (and rightfully so)...
Same Lexi. I thought Raul like, died, or wasn't going to be in Company or something.

Those were the two thoughts that went through my head as well.
I can't take this Yankee game anymore. *prays*
