I'll just leave it where it is for when the guest returns.

Tiff, I don't use either of those products, so I'm afraid I can't help... I'm sure they're comparable, and my friends who use the Freida products are generally happy with them, so you probably made a wise choice...

Thanks, Addy. Kissy, I've got regular-->thick hair that's normal to oily (only if I skip washing for more than a day). And it's somewhat color-treated. I picked up Frieda's Brilliant Brunette treatment which apparently will bring out my natural highlights even more but it seems like Asian hair is impossible to work with without a stylist, eh?

Tiffy: Frieda is better for slightly more "damaged" hair as they call it... Sebastian is better for "non-damaged" hair... Don['t know what color treated would fall into under those categories..

Ahh, good choice with the Frieda then. I made the mistake a while back of bleaching my hair with an at-home kit before dying it, and to this day, if I take a hair and pull it from each end, it splits where the bleached meets the un-treated part. I've still got strands that vary in coarseness and thickness so hopefully the Frieda will do the trick!

Heh. No book or CD qualifies as an urgent purchase, exactly, especially since I don't have my reading lists yet. And it seems somehow wrong to use a Chanukah present to buy a textbook.

I'm thinking of getting Ben Folds Live. Is it any good?

And I don't think I've even heard of those hair products. o_O

I enjoy Ben Folds (You know, whatever happened to the 'Five'?) but I haven't heard any live stuff yet. I did just pick up the new Michael Buble unplugged CD/DVD and am quite enjoying it.

I think the Five were...three. And they broke up. But Folds does pretty nicely on his own, at least in Rockin' the Suburbs.

Right now I own all of B&N's Ben Folds and Ben Folds Five selection except for Fear of Pop, Super D, and the aforementioned Ben Folds Live.

I have no idea what Super D is, but it's 5 tracks for $30, which just pisses me off. I could get one of the books I'm looking at for the same price. Fear of Pop is...experimental. *cough* So Ben Folds Live it is, unless I come up with a better idea. Or the stupid store gets a better selection. *rage*

Type_A_Tiff, I picked up that CD too, It's pretty much the only thing I've been listening too on my ipod.

I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

So they're showing the Rose Parade on NBC. Is this a re-run? I thought the parade was yesterday...

Not a re-run.

Because of the holiday schedule with the NFL, many of the college games are being held today and throughout the week...

I think there was also a nasty rainstorm in Cali, so it's for the best.

I bought Ben Folds Live and a version of Whatever and Ever Amen with a few bonus tracks. I'm such a Ben Folds junkie. *shame*

I also finally caved and got a Sweeney Todd ticket for way more than I'm normally willing to pay. Curse you, Sondheim! *shakes empty wallet*

My gay neighbor who mostly lives at another place now just told me he came down with kaposi's sarcoma cancer last year and has had radiation and chemo for it and supposedly gotten rid of it. It means also he has AIDS. He was looking pretty good on the new drugs but what awful news.

His former partner who lives here is okay. He took up with a guy in the interim who was a bastard and even though he knew his last partner had died of AIDS and that he had HIV didn't tell him and just gave it to him. Vile acts like that make you believe in quarantine.

So my neighbor hasn't worked for a year and now just wants to move far away to be near family and hopefully be able to work again and get AIDS-free if they come up with a cure.

Very distressing. People, generally men, can be so evil and inhumane.

Okay, I vented. Thanks, JRB, for making a spot for it.

Thanks, Undi and harris.

Poor guy's living under a death sentance now until they get the cure for AIDS. He said he's been stigmatized by people who know he has it. Ouch.

Quick, can someone give me a recap on the first hour of Human Trafficking, part 1? I joined this late - at the part where the Filipino girl was sold into the industry and taken away from her home. I also saw Robert Carlyle threatening a woman with a girl back in Russia. What have I missed? I'm a bit confused but this seems like a really compelling and disturbing drama.

I went to get lunch at Subway and discovered that they are now making Cheddar and Sour Cream Baked Lays! I don't know why this is necessary since they already have Cheddar and Sour Cream Baked Ruffles, but as long as my Subway carries them I shall be happy.

You know those things that pop out at you and scare you? It looks innocent...but it isn't?

There's a new one on Ebaum's World that scared the living sh*t out of me. It says there's a subliminal message if you play Jingle Bells backwards...well, when the stupid song is played backwards, right at the very end, a friggin' picture pops up (And that scared me more than the scream did!) and screams loud at you.

Well, I fell for it and screamed back like there was no tomorrow. My grandma got scared, and I told her it was from the internet, etc., etc. She shook her head and said, "Oh, I don't think you should be on the internet looking at those things all the time...."

Ergh.

Anyway.

Sort of a heads up if you're heading over there.

God, I hate those things. Even though I KNOW it's going to pop out at me, I have to avert my eyes while "waiting" because I freak every time.

I have the same problem, no matter how much I try to use logic and not be afraid. I know it is coming but I still fall off the chair. Basically I just hate whoever forced me to look at the crap at that point.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.
