Does anyoune think it is a bit odd that they have a pic of Felicity done up like it's a Desperate Housewives DVD? She never looks like this in the film, does she?

No, they are clearly selling Ms. Huffman with that photo. But who's to say her character doesn't end up a fab desperate housewife?
I enjoyed this film very much, and wish she had won the Oscar.

Yes. Of course it's odd jrb! Still, that doesn't take away from the quality of the film and the performances. But c'mon, it's odd.
From a marketing pov, it's not odd in the least. And if that gets that film seen by more people, amen.

Marketing?
Well why not put this picture of Charlize Theron on the cover of North Country or Monster?

or better yet, this one.
That will sell lots of DVDs!

Hello! Nudity. I would have to buy some boobs if I were Charlize.
Oh and I hate that they are using that cover for Transamerica. I loved the film, but that's just not it. It reminds me of one of the movies that had an unknown in a supportive role that went on to become HUGE. When they repackage the film, that celeb is the cover. They did this with Julia Roberts in Mystic Pizza and Satisfaction.

I’m not sure if it’s still being done, but when the DVD release was first announced, the cover art was going to be one of those 3-D covers that changes when looked at from different angles.
TLA.com has completely different cover art from Amazon on their site.

Yeah, I thought it was odd that they had her looking all purty on the cover. While I would have been very happy if Huffman won, I still think that Witherspoon was a worthy winner. I'm still pissed that Joan Allen was snubbed, but I digress.

OMG! I've thought the EXACT same thing and have told someone the EXACT same thing!
She looks like Desperate Housewives, not Transamerica!
I like that last one. What's wrong with the normal poster though? Ah. That first one scares me.
I agree with Jerby. They want people to buy/rent this film. It was, essentially, a small, arthouse film that could stand to find a larger audience. What better way then to promote Felicity's well-known face?
