Any guesses?
God, I hope they throw him in a cell forever, and he spends the rest of his days being violated repeatedly.
(Even though I sound like RodK here... I have nothing but loathing for that man>)
Is it definitely going to be a verdict or could it still be a mistrial?
Edit: If it is definitely going to be a verdict, I predict it'll be "not guilty". Morons.
I just hope there is some justice for Laci and her son. No one deserves to die that way.
If it's "Not Guilty" I just may move to Canada. :) Any openings in Vancouver?
yea i am having a bad feeling.......
This case should have been open and shut if not for the fact that the prosecution botched an obvious Guilty verdict that had been handed to them on a silver platter. And frankly, the defense was horrendously weak and calling useless witnesses and evidence out of their asses the entire time.
On top of that, having 3 jurors dismissed over the last month, 2 in the last few days - while for this specific case, it's so obvious that Peterson should be convicted, I think the jurors will think there's some reasonable doubt.
And can I just say how appalled I am at Geragos for sticking that boat with the dummies and the deadweights outside the courthouse earlier this week???
I can't believe my eyes when I read about that stunt.
He's going to have to face it when he gets to the gates. There's no amount of plea barginin, defense attorneyin, that will save his soul.
And the boat incident is absolutely appalling! Geragos should be held in contempt. How can he sleep at night knowing that he stooped that low? I wonder if that made him feel good about himself and his job. It's stunts like that, that give the legal profession a bad name.
*shakes head* I blame the media primarily for a lot of this hoopla.
Edit: Quick Q - I forgot - Is the trial taking place in the Bay area or LA?
"that give the legal profession a bad name."
Exactly. It's turned me off going into criminal law as a defense lawyer. This trial makes a mockery of an already weak judicial system.
Was it ever confirmed that it was Geragos's stunt? I just assumed it was.
From what CNN is reporting, the jury has reached a verdict. No chance of a hung jury or mistrial.
**headdesk** I call it as Not Guilty.
According to CNN, He was behind the boat incident.
Regardless of the outcome, I wonder who'll come off looking the worst in the long run - the defense, the prosecution, the judge or the jurors. The entire case smelled like stinky cheese. Even in the OJ case, everyone (saved for OJ) came out either unscatched or looking better.
Besides, only a judge can call a mistrial. Not a jury.
Verdict due in 15 minutes. I don't know why, but watching these things play out live always makes me so nervous. Brings back memories of O.J.
I have a feeling that since the deliberations since the new juror additions happened very quickly that they might issue a verdict of "not guilty." What a big mess that would be. What's he going to do with his life anyway when everyone thinks he's guilty to begin with.
Someone will cap him I hope.
I watched the OJ verdict with one of his golfing buddies at the restaurant he owned. I kept my mouth shut, but the air was celebration.
CKeaton... That must have been somewhat surreal.
For those of you who can't get to a tv, Courttv.com has a live web feed.
It's a circus outside that courthouse. You would think people were lining up to get super bowl tickets or something. It's all very disturbing.
