There are those of us who ARE Catholic and who are disgusted by The Catholic League. These are the people who condemn books and movies they've never read or seen but they've heard such-and-such about them. They seem to be a whole breed of people who have been brainwashed--or pre-programmed to think a certain way.

I'll never forget the mess they stirred up about THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST (one of the few movies I've actually seen in recent years). None of them even bothered to see the movie they were protesting against.

Was it an immoral film? No. It wasn't a perfect film, either. It gave food for thought and that's something The Catholic League doesn't want to encourage.

What I love most about Bill Donohue is his insistence that the crucifix is a specifically Catholic symbol. In his mind, the crucifix is to the church what the golden arches are to McDonald's. A crucifix with ants crawling over it in a film? ANTI-CATHOLIC.

as satisfying as it is to see him taken down, i agree with sean (and the apocalypse is soon to follow): giving him any attention is giving him exactly what he wants.

It's a well-known fact that I am not a movie-goer. I don't think I've seen more than ten movies in the past 25 years. Even that's a generous guess.
