The View: Replacement?

I don't know if anyone else here is a fan of "The View", but I was wondering what those who do enjoy the show knew/though of what was going on with the search for Starr Jones replacement?
I have noticed that the guest hosts lately are almost always African-American women, so I assume they are all trying out for the job, but people have also been saying they are not going to name a permanent replacement and just have four panelists with the occasional guest.
I know that Sherri Sheperd (who I love) has been coming back again and again, and I see on her website that she is scheduled to return yet again both December 27th abd for almost an entire week January 2nd through the 5th. Could she be a frontrunner?

I emailed Sherri asking if she was up for the permanent replacement job, and she suprisingly said that she is not, and she is just filling in between the girls they are trying out.
She said that although she loves doing it, she enjoys being in LA and acting, and that it would be hard for her to give that up to do something permanent in New York like "The View."

I have a feeling Sherri is going to get the job since she's been back so many times. Good for her--she'll be great!

Posted: 12/28/06 at 4:12pmDid anyone see Shepard on The View yesterday? She was hysterical! Talking about her divorce and trying to kill her husband - literally - closing her bible and reaching for the lamp to bash his skull while he slept when she found out he cheated on her. Then - thanking his mistress in the middle of cussing her out because the bimbo said she was a huge fan and has followed her career! I nearly died. Also her stint in jail for not paying her traffic fines. She is so great - and she would be so perfect for the show. Too bad she is in love with LA. She would be such a great addition to New York.
