The pool they appear to be building looks pitifully insufficient for the job at hand
That thing looks scary. Especially since that is supposed to be for a 4 person raft.
F the F NO! I have skydived twice and was not afraid as I am of that first picture!
When I was a teen I went to Water Country (NH) and tried out their steep water slide. They make you lie down with your arms crossed and they warn you several times before they push you not to move and to keep the same position throughout. Moments later I learned why. Once I went over, I felt that I was gonna fall off and my initial reaction was to turn myself over and try to climb back up, but I wisely remembered what they'd told me and just squeezed my eyes shut and prayed for it to be over. It was the scariest feeling ever, but it was even scarier to think of what might've happened had I let my instincts take over. I probably would've fallen to my death. Looking at that pic gave me vertigo. *shudder*
Of course someone had to add in the comments of this article the slide from Action Park with the 360 degree loop. I was actually wondering if the creator of this slide thought that one up.
Action Park! The most dangerous waterpark in the country. Oh how I miss it.
Hopefully this slide is safer.

that is a tad bit high!
that too reminds me of when I went skydiving!
Thanks for the link to the Action Park video. My parents took me there once...once being the key word because after they saw the place they weren't bringing me back. Was a fun day. I do remember riding the Alpine Slide. It was really cool and I have honestly thought about being able to ride it again. What the guy in the video failed to explain is that once the rider sat on the sled the brake was engaged. Only when you lifted the handle did the wheels connect to the track. If you lacked the strength to basically lift your body weight then the brake was by default applied. I am sure that half way down the mountain muscles grew tired, the handle wasn't lifted as high so the sled lowered (lifting the wheels into the sled) and the brake was on. Think of airplane wheels retracting into the nose of the plane.
I actually live only 45 minutes from the site of Action Park. I did get a job there 10 years, but it was changed to Mountain Creek Water Park then. Still not a great place. Actually, it really scared me when they sent me a letter talking about all of their improvements and how they were able to brag that they finally got a platinum rating in safety after getting bronze the year before and nothing before that.
