I remember him more for "The Devil in Miss Jones," which was a far better movie and featured a performance by Georgina Spelvin that is in a class by itself among adult films.
Forget the sex...try not to be affected by the first 10 minutes.

Ahh.. back wne porno movies had scripts, costumes, original theme songs:
Deep Throat - deeper than deep, your throat
Don't rock the boat, don't get your goat
Deep Throat - that's a she wrote... Deep Throat
And the blonde nurse - Thora Birch's mother.
How ironic would it have been if he had choked to death?

I was thinking it as ironic that he died of a stroke after he provided strokes for so many others....

Quiet on the set!
I saw DEEP THROAT in Copenhagen (I kid you not), and I was a stupid barely-legal tourist who didn't know that the cheapest seats in Danish theater, like many in Europe, are in the front, not back. I had planned to hide in the last row, but had to sit front n'center, amid a small bevy of Great Danes, all wearing damp rain slickers (!). Afterward, I went to Tivoli and had sausage and beer.

You just described my dream night.
I heard that Richard Nixon saw Deep Throat 7 times so he could get it down pat.
You had to be there, Namo. Next evening, the Royal Danish ballet -- dancing nude. By the time I got to italy, 2 days later, well, a peperoni was no longer just a peperoni.

Last I heard, Harry Reems was a real estate broker in some small town in the Northwest (Idaho? Montana?).
All I know is, if I was driving through some town and saw the Century 21 sign on some lawn saying "Contact Harry Reems", I would NOT be able to resist the urge to come back after dark and steal that sign.

Utah. It's in the Inside Deep Throat documentary. I love him, he's the rare bird who found religion to save himself from the depths of addiction and yet has not found it necessary to renounce his past. In fact, he says he's proud of his past as a First Amendment activist.
