No, you can't listen to the radio on an iPod. It's not a Walkman; it has no AM or FM reception. If you want to, you can attach a radio transmitter to your iPod so that the music inside it gets sent out as a radio signal a radio (say, your car radio) can pick up. That way you can listen to your iPod without headphones.

first of all liam, it's an ipod. And try to get it from one of the free sites.

My question is whether I should get one soon (ie. in May -- I'm waiting to get it as a graduation present to myself), or just wait until the next iPods release, which hasn't been announced yet. But they seem to get thinner and lighter with each release, and with longer battery life. But I'm dying to get one.

Hmm--but as the weight and thickness decreases, the price increases. I'd still vote for trying with one of the free sites. That's how I'm getting mine (it's being shipped).

Good luck with the "free" sites. As with anything, it is not "free". You have to commit to being a approved for a credit card or pay to become a member of some club, then after it is verified, you have to get around 3-5 other people to do the same, then after they are verified, you might get an ipod after a few months.

Actually it's the contrary. There are many free trials on these sites that, ask long as you cancel before the trial is up, don't cost you anything. You often get credit within a week for these, and if you get your referrals within the same time period you can get them verified quickly. Then when they verify your account (typically a day or two), they send you an iPod which takes a week to arrive. The whole process can take 1 to 3 weeks if you want it to. I'm willing to wait 3 weeks for a free iPod.

Reason #525600350024601 why I love bww.com (extra love for the person who can figure out what three musicals I just referenced)

Ok, I need some iPod help. Is there a way to set iTunes so that you can put music on your iPod and then delete it from your hard drive without deleting it from your iPod next time you update it?

Ummm--haha I can't help you, but if I could I would. Wait for Plum, she seems to know all about iTunes.

Ok.

Another question- how do you re-order songs? Mine sometimes don't stay in the order they're on on the CD.

*bump*

If you set it on 'manually manage', how do you put a CD on it without deleting everything else?
