CLAYTON HAMILTON, "Theory of the Theatre" "I think theater ought to be theatrical ... you know, shuffling the pack in different ways so that it's -- there's always some kind of ambush involved in the experience. Ugh, here goes my rant.

This applies to all us teenagers out there. I am so freaking tired of being a teenager. I cannot stand the culture at all. I'm tired of going to the movies with some of my friends and have them calling boys on their cell phones about crap that doesn't make sense and talk behind a friend's back who isn't even there. I'm sick of the stories that start with "Well he said. . .", "See, she's sleeping with. . .", or "He's so hot, should I. . .". I feel like I'm at least 30 when I'm with them. Grant it I do have some friends that are on the level with me but some of them just tick me off. I can't wait until I get a little older when I can start hanging out with people who don't spaz out about a boy looking at them. Grr. Ok, I'm done.

I feel like this a lot, but luckily most of my friends are off-beat enough not to fall into the trap. But lately I have been going into a semi-depression over this very issue. I do have certain friends who are very BubblyPinkTeenyGirlie, and others who think they are simply TOO COOL (or TOO SMART, as the case may be), and then there's one who dresses punk. And I'm sorry, but I have absolutely no respect for goths/punks. It doesn't make you individual. It makes you just as conformist/pompous as the popular girls, except with bad fashion and a bad attitude.

And I hope I'm not offending any of you, but I don't think you guys do this anyway, so yah... people who slit their wrists are stupid. Just plain stupid. I don't even comprehend. I especially hate it when they flaunt it. I know several girls like that. "Oh, I can't go to the movies today, I have to meet with one of my FOUR psychiatrists this afternoon to discuss my wrist-slitting and suicidal tendencies." Yes, that was a real quote. Her name is Camille. And I've heard many others like it. Shut up girls and get real help. Don't hurt yourself, but don't tell the whole world if you do. It doesn't make you cool.

Sorry for the rant.

Changing the subject for a second:
Does anyone remember the song "Truely, Madly, Deeply" by Savage Garden? I used to love that song even though it was slightly cheesy and very overplayed.

Random thought for the half hour.
