I forgot who said it (Maybe on AN ACTOR'S LIFE) but there really is no rejection in acting. When you audition for something, the people you are auditioning for genuinely want you to be great. It will make their job much easier. They want to find the right actor as it would hasten the start of production. They're completely on your side. True rejection would be not even letting you in the door.

So just remember that, kiddies, when ye be auditionin'.

I remember reading that somewhere too. It still sucks to not get the part though. Meh.

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

Not really. Just move on to another audition. Just like any job.

If you don't get a job at a grocery store, you don't whine about it. Just move on to something else.

I disagree with that. When it's a role you really care about, it sucks. You move on to the next audition obviously, but it does suck...

Rejection is rejection it doesn't matter if you get over it quickly or not its still a rejection.
