Anyone else attending the conference in Pennsylvania? Or is the conference in your state coming up?
I searched but I couldn't find anything, correct me if there's a board already on here.

I am with Pennsbury and we hopefully have a production number coming.
Nope... I am from PA but I am not coming to the conference.
Wish I was.
It would be rad.
Thespian Convention is next Thursday here in Texas.
I'm super nervous because it's my first time going, and I don't think our group is prepared (we're doing froup musical). A guy in another group failed, so it got split up and one of the girls wound up with us. So, so much confusion.

We're doing a mainstage too, on saturday I think.
It's called Sganerelle. What are you guys doing? So I can watch out for you.

Pennsbury is doing a production number, I will hopefully be in a green pimp coat with sequins if anyone cares.
We had a number from Joseph.. going but alot of the Brothers couldn't come. Also, we have a handful of IE's too.
However, I am most excited for the 8 hour drive!

WORKING WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *which ive said a kagillion times and mean it whole heartedly*

Thanks alot, I just wish the "judges" (edjudicators or something) had thought differently. They said our production was too upbeat considering the show and that we had major mechanical problems (meaning the mikes, which were NOT OURS) but we all decided the reception we got at York made up for us not going to Nebraska.

who did end up going to Nebraska
I was in "Trifles" which was in the black box, so not many people go to see it.
The performance of Working was real good, I'm not a big fan of the show, but you guys pulled it off really nicely.
My favorite performances were The Children's Hour and Working.

I did love the Children's Hour despite the fact that everyone around me fell asleep, which is not only rude but stupid because they missed a great show.
Working ended up not going because we had a strike at our school (We went to States having had 3 rehearsals within about a month) and because of the strike we had extra days added on to the end of the year and it interfered with graduation and the seniors were stingy about that. Plus, some people just didn't want to go and were not as committed as other cast members. Anywho, we are having The Secret Garden judged at our school and hopefully taking it to Nebraska if we can pull it off.
Do you guys leave Thursday to get to Connelsville? We have an 8 hour bus ride ahead of us!
Yeah, we leave Thursday, but it's only a 45 min. ride for us.
Soooooooo excited! BTW, BNN, I love your icon!
People fell asleep during Children's Hour? That's awful. I'm such a Lillian Hellman fan...
I'm freaking out, I can't wait for Thursday!

I'll see you guys tomorrow (even though I probably won't know it, or I'll yell out "DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE BNN AND STYLINBOHEMIAN ARE?!?" )
Good luck with ynz shows!

IM still packing we had to have all our clothes there yesterday when we packed up our set. Ya we've opted not to be judged for nationals cause our theater ad. SUCK!!! We leave tomorrow morning 4 hours bus ride for us! Im still trying to finish our display board every year its left for me to update last minute! AH! I gotta finish packing!!!! I loved childrens hour and working. i hated when everyone falls asleep u better not fall asleep through ours or make fun of it....ugh long day in store tom. ::GEEK OUT:: I CAN't WAIT!!!!!
Okay, this year I loved Hetta Gabler and Epic Proportions (I think Dearly Beloved should've been later in the conference, people had trouble gettin into it. What role had you played?)
We did Sganerelle, I was Marguerite... or the wife of Sganerelle. Didja guys win any awards or anything? I got the Hall of Fame.
I had such a great time!!
Alabama's State Thespians isn't for a while. Like Feburary or something.
But we did just have State Trumbauer (Thespians but harder to spell.)
My monologue (Solo acting Male Contemporary Dramatic) got a 47 and 48. But I also went over time by 20 seconds...which makes me sad.
Duet went well, but we went over in that too...that was also sad.

Hedda Gabbler and the Taffatas were my favorite from this year. I saw Epic Proportions before at Truman so seeing with a somewhat disruptive audience kinda ruined it, but I liked it alot the first time I saw it.
I'm sorry to say I didn't see Sganerelle as I was backstage with our production number getting ready. We did the song from The Life (the one with hookers and pimps) and I think we did a good job considering we had 2 rehearsals for it. Also, two of our IEs are going to Nebraska.
It was not my favorite states because Sarah Vitali, the missing board member, was from our school and we were all pretty bummed she wasn't there and the audience this year was so much more rude than last year. The food was terrible too but I cannot put in words how happy I am that States is in Central York next year, that school is heaven.
I liked Dearly Beloved but I think you guys got screwed by going in the morning but I can say that I liked your show alot. And stylinbohemian, did you go to the period wastecoats workshop on friday? I think I may have seen you there or somewhere else and not noticed it.
I want to go to York next year so bad! Unfortunately, I'll be going to a different school next year that doesn't have a sponsor. I may find some way to go though, either by convincing one of the teachers or tagging along with my old school, which people have done before.

it was fun this year. i thought last year at central york was so much better. but now that im sitting back thinking about it i miss it. ICK i dont want to go to school tomorrow we didnt get back til almost 4 today. IM so exhausted and I had to finish my research paper thats due tomorrow. fuuuun stuff.
we were there thursday night til 1 am we had to wait for epic porportions to strike their set before we could put ours up then our hotel was 20 min away from the school and we had to be back at the high school by 8 to be ready for show. We had the crap spot we new it everyone would be asleep. & as soon as we started packin up our set the skys opened up and a windtunnel decided to grace its presence on us.
1 of our members made state board for next year im so proud of her she works so flippin much. then two got cash prizes for performance and 1 for tech. it twas very cool indeed. it depresses me that we used to only go to conference every other year until i started fighting for it to get us to go this year again and now we're going to be going every year sure now that im a senior we go every year.....ick
i remember Sganerelle it was interesting ahmelie and i really liked your production number BNN. no i did production number and swing. i think gillian was at the workshop friday her shirt for dearly beloved said makeup girl on the back.
AH IM SOOOO TIRED!!! I havent even finished unpacking yet. Im trying to cetch up on hw!!!
