Let's turn the tables a little bit, and see if we can name the performer who was in the most flops on Broadway.
My vote goes to Irra Petina--after one hit (SONG OF NORWAY), she appeared in four mega-flops in a row: MAGDALENA, HIT THE TRAIL, CANDIDE ('57 version) and ANYA.

Definitely, Wildcat.
Hollywood was MUCH kinder than Broadway to Ms. Matthews--where she appeared in films such as 'Butterfield 8, ' 'Rage to Live,' 'Sounder,' and 'Daniel.'

Karen Morrow appeared in I Had a Ball, A Joyful Noise, I'm Solomon, The Grass Harp and The Selling of the President. NO hits. I think she wins.
Poor Patricia Routledge appeared in How's the World Treating You?, Darling of the Day and 1600 Pennyslvania Avenue, as well as that Matlby-Shire road closer (Love Match, I think?) AND she decided not to move to Broadway with The Pirates of Penzance

Yes, my love Melissa Errico has been in several high profile flops, including MY FAIR LADY, HIGH SOCIETY, AMOUR, and DRACULA.
re: They Were (Almost) All Flops#8

re: They Were (Almost) All Flops#9
Posted: 2/12/05 at 5:27pmWhat show was that? I'm seriously drawing a blank.
re: They Were (Almost) All Flops#11
Posted: 2/12/05 at 5:30pmAh, yes. How could I forget. She also guested on Alicia Silverstone's flop series "Miss Match", and played Tom Cavanaugh's ex-wife on "Ed".

re: They Were (Almost) All Flops#14
Posted: 2/12/05 at 5:38pmDreadful film, but loved her in it. She only had a small role, though. You really can't blame that one on her.
re: They Were (Almost) All Flops#15
Posted: 2/13/05 at 12:17amKristin Chenowith had a flow TV series also.
re: They Were (Almost) All Flops#16
Posted: 2/13/05 at 12:21amWell YAGMCB wasn't a flop for HER, she won a Tony...and I think Wicked made up for all the others...she definitely isn't on this list....in my opinion.

Posted: 2/13/05 at 10:07amLots of people win Tonys in flop show-it doesn't mean that the show isn't still a flop. And I'm surprised that anyone even remembers "Chenoweth", which was cancelled after 4 episodes.
re: They Were (Almost) All Flops#19
Posted: 2/13/05 at 11:33am4 episodes? I've seen a whole season.

Ok. After a bit of research, I think that Debra Monk wins. Courtesy of ibdb.com, she has appeared in the following flops:
Nick & Nora: December 8, 1991 - December 15, 1991
Redwood Curtain: March 30, 1993 - May 2, 1993
Picnic: April 21, 1994 - May 29, 1994
Company: October 5, 1995 - December 3, 1995
Steel Pier: April 24, 1997 - June 28, 1997
Ah Wilderness: March 18, 1998 - May 3, 1998
Thou Shalt Not: October 25, 2001 - January 6, 2002
Reckless: October 14, 2004 - December 19, 2004
That makes 8 flops in a row. I really do feel bad for her.

Posted: 2/13/05 at 12:36pmKristin Chenoweth and Melissa Errico have had a lot of flops. Also, Jennifer Cody was in a bunch of flops.
re: They Were (Almost) All Flops#22
Posted: 2/13/05 at 12:51pmWell that sucks for Monk. One of the great character ladies of our generation. She's fantastic in everything she does.
re: They Were (Almost) All Flops#23
Posted: 2/13/05 at 1:40pmTo defend monk, some of those were limited run shows, like company and reckless,
