See, this is why MTV edits Green Day, because so many idiots misinterpret what they are saying.
I just rewatched their entire Live 8 performance from Berlin, and during "American Idiot" when Billie Joes sings, "Well maybe I'm the Faggot America, I'm not part of some redneck agenda" they censor the word "Faggot." Even though, OBVIOUSLY, he is telling the redneck contingent that he doesn't agree with their politics, or their use of the word "faggot" to criticize anything progressive.
Ditto, "kill all the fags that don't agree" and the reference to "bombing Eiffel towers..." He's speaking in the voice of empire-bulding politicians.
"American Idiot" is the best commercial album of last year, the best album Green Day have ever done, and smart as hell. This explains why people who clearly fit into the category described in its title completely MISS THE POINT.
Now, why didn't Parks get upset when somebody on this site thought it would be a good idea for Eminem to beat up Moby?
