I haven't read the article yet, but the cover story is an essay on the Biblical case FOR Gay marriage.

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

I don't care what the bible says about this or any government issue. The more we talk about it, the more we're validating its relevance as a talking point. Every time this comes up we should not discuss or argue it. We should simply reply that it doesn't matter what the bible says.

Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.

Perhaps it would be more relevant to discuss our Constitution, particularly the 14th Amendment, rather than a book compiled of folklore centuries ago in another hemisphere and a completely different society?

"It does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are 20 gods or no god. It neither picks my pocket, nor breaks my leg." -- Thomas Jefferson
