I mean, who's gonna post on this site, knowing the feds can trace you? Well, except maybe ole Jerry Sandusky?

Wasn't there a Law and Order SVU on this very subject? Even they tracked down the Virtual Pedophile through the IP address!

Is it a crime to have unnatural/immoral THOUGHTS? At least at the heart of this is the desire to NOT act upon it. If there is no admittance to wrong doing, what legal action could be done? The article even states a website that is FOR pedophiles that don't think there is anything wrong with their actions -- so I would suppose THOSE posters should be more worried.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The only concern I would have is how then are these people fulfilling their desires? Are they looking at pictures? That's illegal (and rightfully so) - so no matter how much they're protesting their desire to not hurt children, I don't think they're living up to that.

I'm not even going to read that article on salon for fear of drawing police attention.

You have no way of knowing if they (or any portion of them) are DOING anything wrong. I don't know if they are, but just acknowledging the attraction, doesn't guarantee they are criminals. Can I imagine what it might be like to fight that kind of attraction? Nope, but I do suggest there are gads of people that have odd sexual appetites that never act on them.

Would I feel comfortable with a person claiming to having it in check around me or my children? Nope, but that still doesn't make them criminals.

Yeah, I found the comments, and the rather well-reasoned responses to them on behalf of the siteowner (I believe), doubly as interesting as the article itself. They've addressed some of the issues brought up here, re: criminal activity, child pornography, etc. They seem quite dedicated to resisting these harmful urges. The site just seems to be a place where people can gather to support each other in doing so.
