I am okay, how are you? I went to retake my roadtest for the 3rd time yesterday, and I couldn't take it b/c my drivers ed certificate expired. So now I have to take a 5 hour class, and retake the test in July. So I am sitting here wallowing in my lack of freedom.

Howdy, OSG!

BST, you naughty girl...should I give Andrew advanced warning?

I just finished cooking and eating a French meal for me and the folks. Kissy, you'd be so proud! I served the Rougie fois gras and French onion soup with gruyere as the entrees, and then duck confit with asparagus and potatoes as the main course...everyone's insisting on a one hour break before dessert (I proclaimed, "But that's not the French WAY..." and they insisted, "I know, it's better!") so I'm letting the Brie and this cheese from Marseilles wait a bit, and then I've got creme brulee chilling in the fridge (I hope a broiler will work since I don't have a kitchen torch to brulee it), Madeleines on the cooling rack (I find Madeleines pretty pedestrian but it's Parisian so...) and I'm going to make the crepe batter after this!

I'm focusing on not throwing up now. It's too much food.

Atkins is back on starting, er, tomorrow. Just in time for me to de-bloat myself before convocation on Wednesday.

By the way, am I self-centered for being a bit irked that it's my convo on Wednesday and my group of "foodie friends" (who are aware of this) have planned a dinner that night and have invited me to "come along" as opposed to actually planning something to celebrate my graduation? Sure, it sounds like quibbling, but I've been dragged to THREE of their convocation celebrations and had to pool out money for their dining and presents. And now it's my turn and they're inviting me along as an incidental. Pissy, right?

Also, now the ladies have their night out, the gentlemen have their night out...what about us?? Let's start planning again for October! (And now that law/journalism school is seeming like a dimmer and dimmer hope, it looks like I'll be flying out of Vancouver after all. )

Doesn't sound self-centered to me. You've paid your dues with them, and now it's their turn - sounds more than fair. The cheek of them! You've had your quibbles with this particular group before, no? I say ditch 'em. At least make the odd bitchy comment.

And October - yay! We'll have to meet up with as many BWWers as we can though, right?
