Got a response from Grand Union Hotel, ladies, which has confirmed a price of $165 + tax = $190 for 10/9-10/10. Reviews on tripadvisor at:

Yesss...it's not exactly the Ritz we were hoping for (or...I'll mention it once only and never again - The Alex suite for $200 that we found in the spring *sob*), but at least we'll be together, and that's what count, r-r-right?

tiff, regarding rath and the hotel/restaurant headcount... idk if i can commit yet, because my friend isn't sure yet either. what restaurant is this? is it an incredibly massive problem if the reservation includes me and i can't come? i'll IM you later... (im in school)

yay for the hotel, that one was fine. astor on the park didn't work out? that one looked a touch nicer.

Beka, I think we nixed the Astor one because it was on 170th St...that was the one right? It may have been nicer for the $$, but that's certainly way the hell up there!!!

OH i didn't realize that it was all the way up there. ok, this one looks good! and it doesn't have dead rats and condoms under the bed, bags over the windows, and a 2x3 foot shower like some of the other ones tiff and i saw during our search.

Heh, I sent them the nasty links on the U2 thread - tres disgusting!!

We nixed Astor because it was on 107th (not 170th, but really, anything past 60th was out of the question anyway), plus it was quite a bit more expensive than Grand Union. The reviews on tripadvisor seem satisfactory. Wish they had a continental breakfast, but what can you do? (Bagels are only, what, a buck, on the street?)

If there's even just 4 of us in on the hotel thing, it'll come to under $50. Hopefully you can make it out, Beks! There's other young'uns coming to BWW HH as well (I should PM ebonic_singer and see if he's headed our way!)

i'm glad the hotel thing has been figured out. and *i* have to figure out when i can come! my friend is leaning towards the 9th, but she's not totally sure yet.
