So...told my dad about buying the tickets to New York over lunch today...after letting him ramble on for 20 minutes over how it wouldn't be a good idea and why, and not letting on that everything had already been said and done.
He seemed to take it well at first (probably because I was treating him to lunch), but it all started to unravel afterwards. And now neither of my parents will even look me in the eye.
Oh, and for a dose of instant karma, apparently Delta Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection this morning. Jesus.
So this trip better be good. (Assuming Delta doesn't collapse before my flight to JFK!) And directly related to that...
...Mabs, the $40/day would probably cover my birthday. I can't afford to spend that every day I'm there! (I wish. ) I figure we can splurge on my birthday (oh, and technically it's a belated celebration for YOUR birthday and an early celebration for Sivon's birthday too), and look for cool dives to eat at the rest of the time. And Radio City Apartments sound fun, eh?
At the very least, it'll be a pitiful birthday celebration avec deux, and it'll just me you, me, a case of beer, slurring our speech talking about how bitchy everyone else was for blowing us off.
...Sivvy, that sounds good. Not that I have any problem staying with your aunt, but if I can freeload offa you and Nik, the spooning will be even BETTER! (Don't forget, I promised I'd make it up to you. ) I'm sure around Sept 24, 25, there'll still be places ready on Oct 1! Realistically, do you have enough money to pay rent for October and November though?
...Beka, stick with the photo assignment. I don't know how much you'll be able to stick around for though! We'll be dining later on at night and then probably hitting a club or pub. When would you have to catch the train home?
You'll be in NYC, Tiffy. That ain't pitiful at all!

So true and nice, you said it twice!
They don't call it New York, New York fer nuthin'
La la la la laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Attention whore.
Where is everybody?
And BST, you know you're in for 10/9, girl! Woohoo!
(And Radio City Apts? Huh? Huh?)
What do we know about them?
And I might have plans on the 13, but other than that, I'm in.
What do we know about whom/what?
You already know you'll have plans for the 13?? Feh, that's okay. Hopefully I'll be busy during the week with the job hunt. It's just the first weekend that we've got to whoop it up for! (Oh, and you lady, must keep 10/14 free, because I'm takin' my lady to dinner!)

BST, all we know about Radio City Apts is we can get 2 doubles for $155, there's a fridge, and plenty of room for a gaggle of girls to whoop it up. If we divide it amongst at least 4 people, it's pretty cheap! What more do you need to know?
Beka, you'd better not get in trouble. I don't want some Rhode Island cops busting into my place for something sexually funky. Just in case, though, we should keep Ellie near by as a scapegoat. Hopefully things will work out. BWW Happy Hour's that weekend, and Mabel, Siv and I are planning on some heavy-duty clubbing...what day did you want to come in? 10/8 works out better in terms of stuff to do, but we'll be going to the concert at night.
Rask! Are you coming to Happy Hour?

waitt... am i part of this hotel room thing? i'll talk to you on AIM.
rhode island?
No, you're decidedly excluded from the hotel party. Unlike Ellie, I don't pride myself on having a sexual predator reputation amongst minors.
ETA: Okay, so Rath's good to go for brunch at Balthazar on 10/9. That makes me, Rath, Siv, Nik and Ellie. (Mabel is opting out, but will see us at dinner!)
Any dissent, say 'nay', or I'm reserving a table for 5 for 12 noon on Sunday, Oct 9!
Sounds good to me. I have tickets to "See what I wanna see" on the 12th, so I'm not able to do anything that night, but other than that....
Are you up for Spelling Bee some time that week?
Sounds like a plan.

that week? i really wanna see spelling bee!
oh well... anyways... what's going on that first weekend, besides the concert?
10/8, Mabel and I might catch a show. 10/9 is going to be crazy busy. Lunch at Balthazar, maybe a matinee and shopping, drinks at BWW Happy Hour, late dinner, and then hopefully crashing in a hotel room some time that night. (Although my reservation for Radio City Apts was apparently "not confirmed" because the room isn't available, even though it SAID it was on the website!)

Birthday celebrations galore!
(The big 1-0-0!)
Wow, Ellie, 100 years old? Well, you don't look a day over 87!

Why, thank you!
BTW, did you see Taye Diggs is in an Off Bway show? I insist we harass him at the stage door!
Are tickets still available for SWIWS? Mabel can't get to the Public until tomorrow. If I could see Taye on one night, and Idina on another, I would be quite the happy gal!
