How sad! My prayers go out to his family. My father and I watch Meet The Press regularly, so Mr. Russert has been a presence in our house on Sunday mornings for years. He was definetly one of the most professional journalists out there.

Just...wow.

What a shock! I so enjoyed watching him...and, yes, Zeppy, he's from Buffalo (Kenmore area, I believe.)

the official word from NBC has changed, they aren't saying heart attack anymore, they are saying he was sticken while in the office.

This was terrible news. He was absolutely the best at what he did. I enjoyed watching his program, because he asked everyone the tough questions, but was so polite. Politicians have called it a badge of honor to go and survive a grilling on Meet the Press. He was always incredibly prepared, knew what he was talking about, and did his homework. There was debate on his show, but it never dissipated into a shouting, screaming Crossfire type show. It was intelligent and thought provoking. He will be missed, particularly as we approach a presidential election.

FYI...Doris Kearns Goodwin is on MSNBC right now, crying. Pat Buchanan was just on, and he was choking up. This man was clearly respected and admired by people on both sides of the political aisle.

That's so very sad. Russert was always a good journalist, and I'll very much miss him on Meet the Press. I'm so sorry for his family, friends and colleagues.

One of the very few political pundits that I respected and enjoyed listening to. He was knowledgeable and fair and explained the complex details in a simpler manner that everyone could understand. We will miss you Tim, RIP...

He was a man of integrity and passion and always a joy to be around. On this Father's Day weekend, my heart is breaking for his family.
