I have a question about the section at the NYU website where it discusses the Musical Theater Writing Portfolio (https://gmtw.tisch.nyu.edu/object/grad_gmtwPort.html"). It has Composers and Lyricists as one section and Bookwriters and Playwrights under another section. What if I'm interested in a being a book/lyric writer? It's quite confusing Because under Composer and Lyricist it says you have to submit an audio tape, but if you're only a lyricist, what good would that do? And under Bookwriter and Playwright it says to submit a musical theatre script, and technically if you wrote the lyrics for that would you also be sort of applying to be a lyricist? PLEASE HELP!!!
Here's the page I'm talking about
I think you're a bookwriter/playwright. If you're still unsure, ask NYU for their official advice. This board is not the place to ask a question that serious.
