I'm afraid of the men who are afraid of independent, educated women.

"I think Cindy Sheehan should get a pass. I think any grieving mother looking for an outlet to mourn should get a pass and not have their mental stability questioned while they're being manipulated from all side during, in what I imagine, is their most vulnerable state."

She stopped getting a free pass the day she played kissy face with Hugo Chavez. There is a point where people turn their grievances into a political ploy and she crossed the line. Just because her estranged son was killed in Iraq doesn't mean she should get to make US policy.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

I would never trivialize someones grief as a grievence or dictate how long their grieving should last. And I hadn't realized that Sheehan had the authority to make US policy.

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

AND she's a liberal! Even before the Hugo Chavez thing she actually dared to question our President's fearless leadership in Iraq! AND she was pushy about it, too!

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Dissent is fine. Getting paid by Vogue to have your picture taken while you are lying on your son's grave is opportunism.

Opportunism? What mother wishes for such opportunity?

Is there a parent on this board who feels there's sufficient paid compensation to experience the opportunity to lay on their son's grave?

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

etoile is right. I can't imagine what I would do in Cindy Sheehan's circumstances.

Unfortunately, I still run into patients who think doctors should be men.

Nope, I'm not afraid. I love them.

In fact, as my friends will quote me, if I were straight I'd TOTALLY go for the independent, educated women... but they have to be black (don't ask, just a suppressed hetero-fetish)

No, that's what I go for. But I will say, it's hard to find an independant, well-educated woman who doesn't lose it all for a man, which is such a turn-off for me. I don't like emotional neediness . . .
