Tonight Show Standby Tickets?

Hi guys!

I didn't know who else to ask about this, so I figured I'd try here. Has anyone here ever done the Standby line to get tickets to a taping of the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon? I only have one day/chance to try to get standby tickets, so I want to make sure I show up early enough. What time do you guys think is a safe time to get in the standby line to ensure that I'm one of the first few people? I'm planning to go to NY in a few weeks, and the website doesn't list the guests for the evening yet; I imagine the guests determine when people get in the standby line?

Any info you may have from your prior experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!

Reserved tickets for the monologue as well as the main show itself are distributed through 1Iota.com. They usually open up sign-ups on the 4th or 5th of the month for shows the next month and they're usually gone very quickly, so anything for September was gone weeks ago... As discussed, they have a day of the show standby line for the main show but I don't think they bother with standby for the monolgue though you can certainly ask. 1Iota has a virtual monopoly on ticket distribution for the late night talk shows as well as some morning and afternoon shows. Other companies handle audiences for the sitcoms in L.A.
