My very first Broadway show was Fiddler on the Roof, towards the end of its original run. Zero was long gone and it was probably early 1970. Paul Lipson was Tevye and my 10 year old self thought he did a fine job. My parents made a conscious effort to instill in their two kids the same love for musical theater that their parents had instilled in them.

I can't put into words how thrilled I am for Francis Jue. He is one of the absolute treasures of the Bay Area. I counted 8 shows I've seen him in over the last 20 years from Cambodian Rock Band to King of the Yees to M. Butterfly to a compelling turn in the King and I at the defunct American Musical Theater of San Jose and his versatility never ceases to amaze. Clooney is incredibly nice and patient. Made two rounds, first to sign and then again for photos. Probably spent 20-30 minutes easy. The rest of the cast of GNAGL did not sign or signed 3 or 4 playbills as they exited the stage door and then immediately left.

Yeah, I really wish we could go back to strictly in person rushes where for the popular shows, even if you get there at 7:30, there are already 20-25 people in line and the odds are high you're about to waste the next 2 1/2 hours of your life. If you look at their website, they are now using Signature's Pershing Square theaters for their off-Broadway productions in lieu of the Kiser. I have nothing against the Kiser; I've probably seen 7 or 8 shows there but Pershing Square is a more modern, comfortable facility so I'm actually calling this a win for as long as they are able to stay there..
