If you really want to help the American theater, don't be an actress, dahling. Be an audience..... Don't be taken in by the guff that critics are killing the theater. Commonly they sin on the side of enthusiasm. Too often they give their blessing to trash... Tallulah Bankhead

Worst -- and I hate to say it, because I love her -- was....

CHITA RIVERA.

That dress looked like I made it. In the dark. While drunk.

Best: Emmy. From pictures I have seen, Sutton looked adorable as well.

Worst: Sara Ramirez. Waaaaaaaaaay to tight. Anne Hathaway.

Kelli O'Hara and Victoria Clark both looked dreamy, I thought. Leslie Uggams, on the other hand.............

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Sorry, but Anne Hathaway's dress AND hair were a disaster..Selma Hayek couldn't pull off that horrible hair for the Oscars, and neither could Anne last nite.

Best: Christina Applegate, Kelli O'Hara, Celia, Kerri Russell,Angela Bassett.

Question: Does Megan Mullally ever were an color except black? She needs a stylist.

The ladies of Piazza were beyond stunning.

As for the rest -- Sara Ramirez, too tight. Chita - too flouncy. Anne Hathaway -- WT?

Sutton Foster looked great. I hated the way Sara Ramirez looked. And Celia Volger-Keenan looked great. Glad she listened to Erin Dilly's advice.

It is all subjective.

I will tell you that the worst dressed women were in the audience. The men were unimaginative (myself included) looking like a flock of penguins, but what passes as formal wear on women sometimes does not even meet the criteria for office wear.

Several who were formal needed a gay best friend to gently say, "Honey, that doesn't work." There was one poor thing who was a bit larger than average who was wearing some satin gown that made her look like she was wearing the drapes.

Don't decide at the last minute. Invite people over and ask them what they think.

Johnny Mercer said it best. "Accent-uate the positive."

WHAT was Anne Hathaway wearing??? I can't even describe it, but we quickly decided that it won the "worst" award for the evening!
Sara's dress didn't fit, neither did Victoria Clark's- the first was too tight and the second too loose! Kelly looked beautiful....
Some of the dresses were quite pretty, but the color of the night appeared to have been "band-aid beige", a shade that isn't flattering to anyone!

I loved Kelli's, though, and Adriane Lenox's. Yummy!
