"All cities of 75,000+ populations that reported crime data to the FBI for the six crime categories were included in the rankings. In this year’s survey, 369 cities were considered"
How many cities does Nevada have with populations of 75,000+ ?
It should also be pointed out that most cities in Illinois (including Chicago) do not get considered because they do not report all six crime catagories to the FBI.
This report uses 2004 FBI data - according to that data New York City still had the overall highest number of homocides and incidents of violent crime, but most analyses will normalize raw numbers to rates per 100,000 population - NYC doesn't look so bad that way but there's still crime going on out there.

Posted: 3/29/06 at 10:09amThat's so weird that West Palm Beach made the top 25 of the most dangerous cities. Actually, it has some very wealthy, exclusive and safe communities. I was expecting to see Miami on that list, not West Palm.
