Trade CDs legally on lala.com

I discovered lala.com a few weeks ago - you list CDs you don't want and "trade" them for ones you do (plus $1.75 per CD). I've so far managed to unload a few things I've outgrown (and that I didn't think I could sell on eBay) and gotten 3 original casts I wasn't quite ready to buy.

I'm not affiliated with them at all, just hoping some more original casts show up so I can get more from my want list.

You don't get the box. You can specify to only get CDs with cover art. That's new - I think they're still working on the details but last I read, cover art meant only the booklet, not the back and side thing. But most of the CDs I've gotten have had everything. You can also message the senders and be sure they'll send what you want.

I think they have a decent selection of cast recordings. It's all member-based, so should increase over time too.

I've been trading with lala since early May. I've gotten rid of quite a few CD's that were hanging around collecting dust and I've received CD's like You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, DRS and I should be getting Trailer Park any day now.

My account says that I have 50 invites to give out so if anyone wants one I'm happy to give them. I would just need your email address to do so.

So I received my first CD today, and I'm happy with it, but I had really wanted cover art. Is there any way I can request it even though I've already gotten the CD?

Why would you buy a cd for $15 and exchange it for another one? Didn't you buy the cd for your collection? Didn't you buy it because you enjoyed the music on it?

In some cases yes. But people outgrow music. Also, once I get a CD I put all the songs on my iPod, and I never use the hard copy of the CD anymore.

Because some people may want to just trade an aold CD for one they've wanted for a long time. So instead of selling a copy for money, recieving the money, and then going off to a store to find that CD they just swap it right then and there for a buck.

and some people want to copy the original cd to another place (ipod, blank disc or hard drive) and then sell the cd.
