Has anyone seen this yet? I haven't, and I want to. Hopefully this movie will be good. I'm a little worried.

Miramax unceremoniously yanked it from its Christmas Day release and it hasn't been heard of since. Doesn't bode well.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

It'll be coming out this year. Early buzz is strong for Paltrow and Hopkins.

I saw a rough cut, it was actually good.
They yanked it because they didn't want it to take away from Aviator, Miramax is notorious for releasing films based on Oscars. Doesn't help that Paltrow and Harvey had a falling out.

But aren't they dumping this into the middle of summer though? I am sure I read somewhere they wanted to open Cannes with it and then release it in the US shortly after. Cannes is in May, so why are they releasing this little movie about maths and families and madness when it is going to get buried by all the big summer movies?

Oh I can't wait for this movie. I am probably one of the few people that loves Paltrow...
But maybe that's b/c all the boys tell me I look like her...

I heard they were going to make it wait till the fall of '05, because they didn't want it to compete with Aviator ect.

PROOF is set for release in mid-October 2006.
I have seen the trailer and it looks great. Gwyneth did play the role to nothing but raves in London. I do wish that the amazing Mary-Louise Parker were at least asked to do it.

Well, speaking of hard feelings, Mary Louise seemed a bit hurt at being passed over, and understandably so.
I'm glad it's getting an October release though - I imagine it'll get the noms for Adapted Screenplay and Best Performances, although it might be the underdog for Best Picture.

LittleFish - You definitely aren't the only one who likes Ms. Paltrow. Sliding Doors is one of my favorites, not to mention Shakespeare in Love.

I like her in most of the stuff she does, namely Shakespeare in Love and The Talented Mr Ripley.
