I live in CT, and I'm watching it on the news right now. Supposedly 2 people have been injured. Ah the news I was just watching just had to have their building evacuated. Crazy...

I just heard on MSNBC that it was a steam pipe that exploded. I turned it on late so I didn't hear anymore about it.

Terrible about the dead and injured. I left work today on my 5:49 train from Grand Central, and the explosion was what...5 minutes later? Yikes. With all the flooding this morning stopping up Metro-North and numerous subway lines, this was like the day from hell for the MTA--though obviously a much more awful day for the families of those who were killed or hurt.

Here's what the alarmists are saying-it's very close to the U.N., and there were no cabs in that area during rush hour today (meaning the cab drivers are mideasterners).

That happened right near my mom's office. I was all the way uptown but she called and told me something exploded up there.

Our neighborhood (11 blocks from there) was a zoo at rush hour. It's quiet again now.
