Travel Brochure Boo Boo

We were looking at a travel brochure of Europe we got @ Liberty Travel today picking up our tickets for next week

It was funny but they were decribing Venice & showed pictures of Gondolas tied up. The problem is the picture was of the Venetian Hotel in Vegas & not Venice itself. Our travel agent could not believe it.

I wonder if it was done on purpose.

It does not say much for whoever proofread it. It also has a mistake re the address of one of the offices on the back of it.

What gave it away was the parking garage in back of the gondolas.

I love Venice. Its such a beautiful city. I've spent a total of about 6 weeks there over 3 different trips (including a few weeks studying abroad). its definitely my favorite city outside of the US. IT has some of the most breathtaking architechture i've evr seen.

I recentyl saw a news story about a P.R. firm in England that created a brochure promoting tourism in Birmingham, England. Only after 20,000 brochures had been printed did someone notice that the photo on the cover was of the Birmingham, ALABAMA skyline!

Some lazy graphics designer just went to Google Image Search I guess...

This reminds me of the end of Waiting for Guffman, where they show Chistopher Guest in his new "New York" store. You can see out the windows of the store that they are definitely not in NYC!

By the way, it was Mrs R who decided on Venice so blame her as I am along for the ride.

We are going to Las Vegas @ the end of the year so the US economy will get a boost as it always does when we go.
