I kept thinkimg he reminded me of someone. It finally clicked. He looks just like Michelle Lee with a couple hundred extra pounds.

I think I like Travolta in this part because for the first time in the history of film the "Ugly" woman is being played ugly. Most hollywood films would have cast Michelle Lee, put horn rimmed glasses on her then had her whip them off so Link could say "gee Mrs. Turnblad, you're beautiful!"

Strangely, Joe, a frequent complaint I have heard from many of my buddies is that they don't think Travolta looks "ugly" enough. For me personally, the jury is still out.
Laughter is much more important than applause. Applause is almost a duty. Laughter is a reward.
